7196 Auto component manufacturer Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd on Thursday said it would invest ₹300-400 crore in the next three to five years on capacity expansion and to develop new products for the global market. It aims to achieve a revenue of ₹2,000 crore by then. The company will also hire around 200 people for its Indian operations, which has around 990 people at present, Sunjay Kapur, Managing Director, Sona BLW Precision Forgings, told reporters here. The company manufactures precision forged bevel gears, differential case assemblies and synchroniser rings for automotive and other applications. “To achieve a revenue of ₹2,000 crore in the next three-five years in India, we need to invest close to ₹300-400 crore. We felt that we need to invest more in the business that we have in a global scale,” Kapur said. He said the Group’s forging business was around 20 per cent of the global market. “For forged gears, we are investing heavily in terms of new products in the value chain.” Kapur said the automobile industry was getting disruptive and a lot of new things were emerging, comparable to the IT industry in terms of the rate of change. Asked about the Group selling its entire stake in the steering business to JTEKT Corporation (of Japan), Kapur said: “The steering business was limited to India. We had set up that business in the early 1980s for Maruti, and JTEKT increased their stake in early 2000.” Again, in 2007, JTEKT set up JTEKT Sona Automotive, a subsidiary of Sona Koyo. That business was into electronic power steering and JTEKT owned majority stake of 51 per cent

7192 The ambitious project for redevelopment of Gandhinagar railway station will have 300-room hotel on the station premises, besides being hi-tech and passenger friendly .The project for redevelopment of the station moved a step towards realization after global tenders were issued recently . The SPV , known as Gandhinagar Railway Station Integrated Development Company Ltd, is a government company . "The company will also maintain Mahatma Mandir, Exhibition Centre and helipad ground where the Vibrant Gujarat Summits and other important events are held.A A pre-bid meeting by Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation Limited (IRSDCL) will be held on October 26 for the first phase of the project worth Rs 130 crore. The overall cost of the project after completion is pegged at Rs 254 crore.Gujarat government had re cently formed a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for speedy implementation of redevelopment of this railway station.The 300-room hotel is being se en as one of the main attractions of the project. 7179 ICICI Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Haryana at the ‘Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit 2016’. As per the MoU, the bank will expand its branch network by setting up approximately 100 new branches across Haryana. The bank will also launch a ‘Branch on wheels’, a mobile branch with an ATM, to provide banking services to unbanked villages in the state. Further, the bank will setup a state-of-the-art branch at Haryana Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh. Further, ICICI Academy for Skills, an arm of ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth, will set up and operate a centre in the state to impart vocational training to underprivileged youth free of cost to help them earn a sustainable livelihood. The centre is expected to train nearly 900 youth annually. Under this agreement, ICICI Bank and its group companies will invest in Haryana over the next three years by way of various credit instruments. Mr. Rajiv Sabharwal, Executive Director, ICICI Bank, said: “ICICI Bank is committed to partner with the government of Haryana in its endeavour to drive new growth opportunities, leading to economic progress. We are planning to significantly scale up our operations to support the next phase of growth in the state. This will include setting up of new branches, partnering with the government to offer technology-enabled banking solutions and setting up a skill centre to provide free vocational training to underprivileged youth”.
