It has already set up a 600,000 sq ft retail city centre in Surat. Anupam Yog, marketing director of Virtuous Retail said, "We are planning to set up a similar project in Ahmedabad. We are exploring land as well as potential partners for the project in Ahmedabad.”. 5142 Watch and accessories maker Fossil Inc is gearing up to set up its first single-brand retail store in India in Bangalore in the next few months. Fossil is among the first batch of global brands that recently got cleared by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board for setting up single-brand retail stores after the Government raised the FDI limit for such retail to 100 per cent. Gautam Kapur, National Sales Head, Fossils India, said in a press release, “We are currently working on our first flagship store that is mostly likely to come up in Bangalore. We will be following this up with another three stores, probably in Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad about 12 months from now,”. The company has submitted a proposal to invest about $4.5 million in the initial phase to set up its single-brand retail stores. NPGC is a Joint Venture (JV) between state-owned power generator NTPC Ltd and Bihar State Electricity Board. Overseas initial costs are dependent of tariff plan of the desired country and the company has enough local resources. Osamu Suzuki has chosen Maruti for global expansion due to its chunks of cash reserves. The company is likely to invest 23,000 crore Rs at the established plant in Gujarat which generates 2 million cars on a yearly basis from eight lines. The factory will commence production in 2015-16 and will release 250,000 units. According to VG Ramakrishnan , the senior director in the automotive practice at Frost and Sullivan said, Suzuki is not conferred with sufficient funds to enable huge investments on a global scale, it would be preferable for Maruti to invest in global plants.

5139 Jindal Power, a subsidiary of Jindal Steel & Power is planning to set up hydro power plants in Tajikstan. The company is planning to buy hydro power projects of about 100 or 200 MW capacities and is also in talks with some companies. At present, the company is executing three hydro power projects in the Northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, at Etalin, Atunnli and Kamla. Jindal Power is aiming 10,000 MW of thermal generation capacity by 2020. The company, which currently has 1,000 MW of coal-based capacity, is likely to add around 7,000 MW of the new capacity in India either by setting up new plants or acquisitions, while the remainder will be developed overseas, mostly in Africa.

5138 With a plan to enter in East Africa, Reliance Industries, in a joint venture with Delta Corp, has purchased land worth Rs 200 crore in Kenya for development of housing and office properties and is already making good profits. Out of the ten prime plots purchased by this joint venture, Delta Corp East Africa Limited (in which RIL holds 58.8 per cent stake) has completed construction of at least one low-cost residential complex and one office-block project. DCEAL has invested approximately Rs 200 crore to acquire 10 prime plots of land in Nairobi with a planned developable area of approximately 1.2 million square feet of commercial and residential assets. DCEAL has already completed construction of Delta Plains, a mid- to low-cost residential complex at Athi river near the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. This relatively industrialised area is being considered an upcoming residential hub due to its proximity to both the airport and the city. Delta Corp, which runs offshore casinos in India and is the only listed entity in the country's gaming industry, further said DCEAL has developed a gated complex of 4 office-blocks, Delta Riverside, closer to the central business district (CBD) in Nairobi.

5137 India’s biggest telecom firm Bharti Airtel is all set to launch by September fourth generation (4G) services in Delhi, which is one of the lucrative data market in the country. The company which already offers 4G services in Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune and Chandigarh, has roped in Chinese equipment maker Huawei to build and operate the 4G network in Delhi. The company has followed on the example of Vodafone and has slashed the tariff charges of 4G data by up to 31 per cent. After Delhi, Airtel will launch 4G services in Mumbai. 4G mobile Internet technology provides download speeds of around 100 Megabits per second (Mbps) on the move and it can go up to 1 Gigabits per second (Gbps) at a fixed location. 5129 The Government Of Orissa Has Decided To Invest Rs 3,600 Crore In The Power Sector. The Buxar Project Will Generate 9,090 Million Units Of Electricity At 85 Per Cent Plant Load Factor. The Cost Of Construction Of The Project At Current Price Level Is Estimated At Rs 6,891 Crore. Wlas Are To Be Set Up By Non-Banking Entities On Behalf Of 'Sponsor Banks' But They Would Not Carry The Brand Label Of Any Bank, And Would Be Accessible To Card-Holders Of All The Banks For A Fee. As Per This Tie-Up, 5,000 Atms Will Be Installed Across The Country Every Year For A Period Of Three Years, Taking The Total To 15,000 Atms.
