5194 Zydus Cadila has received final approval from the US health regulator to market Lansoprazole capsules used for treating ulcers and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid. The company now has 81 approvals and has so far filed 186 abbreviated new drug applications (ANDAs) since the commencement of filing process in FY’2003-2004. The firm has global operations spread across the US, Europe, Japan, Brazil, South Africa and 25 other emerging markets.

5193 Zydus Cadila will set up an injectible facility at Vadodara at an investment of Rs 100 crore by 2015. The company also plans to expand its hospital business across Gujarat in the next three years. The new facility would be commenced by 2015 and it is meant only for therapeutic segments other than oncology. Zydus Cadila already has a joint venture with US-based Hospira for manufacturing anti-oncology injectibles at Matoda SEZ plant, near Ahmedabad. Zydus Hospitals & Healthcare Research recently started its first hospital operations at Anand, known as Amul's hometown.

5192 Government plans to set up about 25 branches of the proposed public sector Bharatiya Mahila Bank, by the end of this fiscal. The Bharatiya Mahila Bank proposes to complete the first six branches at Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Indore and Guwahati by October 15 and take the total to 25 by March 31, 2014. The government has already approved Rs 1,000 crore seed capital for the women focused public sector bank. The government is also on look out for locations to set up the branches, including at Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mysore and Indore. Reserve Bank of India gave its in-principal approval for the Bharatiya Mahila Bank in June and the banking company is being set up. Minister of State for Finance Namo Narain Meena said had the initial capital of Rs 1,000 crore for the bank has been so decided that it is not capital constrained for expansion of normal business.

5191 GAIL India will sign a contract with a Pakistani firm to export natural gas through a pipeline. GAIL plans to import gas in its liquid form, called liquefied natural gas (LNG), on a port in Gujarat or Maharashtra. After converting this again into gaseous state, it will transport the gas through cross-country pipeline network to Jalandhar. From Jalandhar a 110-km line is proposed to be laid to international border near Atari for delivery to Pakistan. Pakistan wants to import gas from India to meet its rising energy deficit. Initially, it wants to take 1-1.5 million tonnes of LNG (4-6 million standard cubic meters per day of gas). The delivered price of gas will be up to $ 22.3 per million British thermal unit after including transportation charges and all taxes and duties. GAIL Limited is the largest state-owned natural gas processing and distribution company.

5190 Tata Starbucks plans to open around 100 Starbucks cafes in the country by next year to match up to established rivals and is building a war chest for expansion by more than trebling its authorised capital to Rs 220 crore. The company is the 50:50 joint venture between between Tata Global Beverages and Starbucks Coffee International, Inc. USA. Earlier in this month, Tata Starbucks has opened a new store at Korum mall in Thane, near Mumbai. The US coffee chain has already signed two dozen properties, including in the suburbs of Mumbai and Bangalore. Ruchi Sally, director at boutique retail consultancy Elargir Solutions, said, "Starbucks has been opening stores only at locations where the catchment area can value its premium positioning,". 5189 Swedish retail major IKEA Group looking to open its stores in India. The company has identified four states - Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka, to set up single-brand retail stores as part of its Rs 10,500-crore investment in India. The government of India had on May 2 approved IKEA's Rs 10,500 crore proposal for setting up home furnishing stores in the country. The firm has incorporated its Indian subsidiary as IKEA India Ltd. The company would enhance its sourcing from India and would collaborate with handicraft and handloom sector and also collaborate with the National Institute of Design for its products. The firm had proposed setting up 10 furnishing and homeware stores as well as allied infrastructure in India over the next 10 years. In the second phase, the company plans to open 15 more stores. IKEA is a Swedish company registered in the Netherlands that designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture, appliances, and home accessories

5188 CDC, the UK Government-owned development finance institution, and Abraaj Group, private equity investor has announced Rs 100 crore investments in Andhra Pradesh-based Rainbow Hospitals. Chairman and Managing Director of Rainbow Hospitals, Mr. Ramesh Kancharla said, “Raibow Hospitals, a 450-bed paediatric and maternity healthcare business in AP, intends to expand with new hospitals in Bangalore, Chennai, Pune and tier two cities like Visakhapatnam and Kurnool”. With this investment the hospital will develop high-quality medical facilities. CDC will invest $1 billion in India over the next four to five years in financial services, healthcare, renewable energy and consumer related businesses.

5187 Tata Consultancy Services announced that it will set up a software development campus in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, with an investment of Rs. 500 crore in two phases. The TCS Indore campus will be located in the SEZ Area allotted by the Madhya Pradesh government. chief executive officer and managing director of TCS, Mr. N Chandrasekaran, “This will be a state of art facility and a full IT services and solutions campus with engineering blocks, training centre and other necessary facilities. It will be 100% eco-friendly campus with green buildings, zero discharge, energy efficient systems, rain water harvesting system and integrated building management system.

5185 Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL) s planning to launch 120 fuel retail outlets in its base state, Karnataka in the first phase of its retail expansion strategy. The company has already received an approval from the government to set up 500 fuel retail outlets since 2006, while its parent company ONGC has an approval to set up 1100 retail outlets. Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, is an oil refinery at Mangalore and is a subsidiary of ONGC.

5184 French premium cookware company Le Creuset is set to open its own outlets across the country. The company selling products through wholesale channels and to the hospitality sector. Le Creuset had received approval for opening fully-owned single brand stores in March this year. The company didn’t disclose the number of stores it would open or investment it would make in the country. The company plans to set up pop-up temporary shops in premium malls till the time it leases space for company-owned stores. It will open first one in a south Delhi mall this month. Company’s Commercial Manager Ankur Damani said, “Apart from pop-up shops we are also looking at tapping e-commerce channels. But we do not want to discount our products”. Le Creuset is a French cookware manufacturer best known for its colorful enameled cast iron French ovens, also known as "casseroles" or "dutch ovens". The company also makes many other types of premium cookware, from sauce pans to tagines.

5183 Syndicate Bank is reportedly planning to open 100 new branches in the state of Andhra Pradesh by the end of this year including 10 in the twin cities. Mr. M. Anjaneya Prasad, Executive Director, Syndicate Bank said, “We feel that there is lot of business potential in Andhra Pradesh which can be harnessed by us,”. Syndicate Bank is one of the oldest and major commercial banks of India.

5182 Corporation Bank will open nine more SME (small and medium enterprises) loan centres by the end of the current financial year. Currently, the bank has 16 SME loan centres across the India and is planning to take the total number to 25 by March 2014. Meanwhile, the bank is also planning to enter into a tie-up with NITK-STEP to help entrepreneurs.

5181 Maharashtra government has invited Architects from across the globe to build the statue and memorial site of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Arabian sea. The government has already zeroed in on a 16-acre islet, which is one-and-a-half kms from the Raj Bhawan. The government will soon publishing an advertisement through DGIPR's website calling in architects from across the world to come forward with their expression of interests to build the statue. The draft of the advertisement is ready and within a fortnight it would be published. The state government will describe the plan and designing of the memorial, after receiving expression of interests from architects. National Institute of Oceanography has been conducting environmental survey of the site. It would take another 9-10 months for them to finish the survey.

5180 Cadila Pharmaceuticals is searching for a location in Astrakhan, a major city in southern Russia, to house a $150-million facility. The company is looking for 20 hectares of land. Cadila Pharmaceuticals exports drugs to CIS countries, Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. In 2009,The Russian government approved the Pharmaceutical Development Program for the domestic pharmaceutical industry until 2020. The goal is to ensure that at least 50 per cent of the drugs (in value terms) circulated in the Russian market are produced locally. Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies.

5179 Ranbaxy Malaysia Sdn Bhd (RMSB) has been allocated site for setting up a Greenfield manufacturing facility in Malaysia, it’s a joint venture with Malaysian shareholders. The JV company signed a 'letter of offer' agreement with Kulim Hi Tech Park (KHTP), a wholly owned state agency and industrial park that houses various other leading industries located at Kulim. The facility will be built on an area of around 15 acres with an investment of around USD 35 million (over Rs 200 crore). RMSB Managing Director T Jeyabalan Thangarajah said: "In addition to serving the local market, the new facility will also export products to the ASEAN markets, Middle East, Europe, Sri Lanka, China and other select nations. The new facility would manufacture dosage forms including tablets and capsules primarily in the Cardiovascular, Anti- Diabetic, Anti-infective and Gastrointestinal segments. Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited is a multinational pharmaceutical company.

5178 The government has fixed a target of setting up 500 new Kendriya Vidyalayas under the twelfth five year plan. HRD minister M M Pallam Raju said, The 12th plan (2012-17) has a target for opening 500 new KVs during the plan period. Actual sanction and opening of each new KV depends on availability of funds,". 133 proposals for opening new KVs had been received from 23 state governments during the last three years.

5177 American entrepreneur Michael van Cleef Ault and BK Modi-led Spice Global plans to launch boutique hotels and a luxury concierge firm under Pangaea. Pangaea Singapore is one of the most profitable super luxury nightclubs in the world. Spice Global, which is the major investor in the venture, is also contemplating partnering Ault to open Pangaea nightclubs in international locations such as Dubai and Istanbul. The average per head spend at Pangaea is anywhere from $400 to $1,000 (about 24,000-60,000), much higher than the top nightclubs in Las Vegas where a guest usually spends a $50-100.

5176 The government of Uttar Pradesh finalised agreements with seven private power players and a public sector undertaking to produce 230 MW of solar power. Jakson Power Solutions, Moser Bayer Clean Energy Ltd, Sree Developers, DK Infracon, Refax Energy, Azure Surya Ltd and Essel Infra are in list of private power players. These private sector firms would together be setting up solar power plants of a total 130 MW capacity. These companies would be purchasing land directly from the farmers and are expected to be commissioned within six months after the land is in possession. Jakson Power Solutions would be investing Rs 80 crore within one year to establish a 10 MW solar plant. The company has identified some land parcels in the Bundelkhand region of the state and expects their project to be commissioned in 6 months time. The state government has also signed an MoU with public undertaking the National Hydro Power Corporation Ltd (NHPC) to set up a 100 MW solar plant in Jalaun district of Bundelkhand region

5175 The Central Bank of India is in the expansion mode in the north coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh as 23 more branches will be added during the current financial year. The Visakhapatnam zone covers the five districts - Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari.

5174 Emami is planning to invest nearly Rs 1,000 crore for setting up a cement grinding unit and a 450-bed hospital in West Bengal. The company is working on a plan to set up a 1.5 million tonne cement grinding unit in West Bengal with an estimated investment of Rs 500 crore. The plant will be set up either at Mejia in Bankura district or in Purulia district. The company is also plans to invest Rs 500 crore for a super specialty hospital at Rajarhat in the eastern fringes of Kolkata. The company will also set up a new manufacturing plant in Assam for its personal and healthcare business. Emami currently has two facilities in the State. Emami Limited is a producer of fast moving consumer goods which includes cosmetics and health and baby products.

5173 Sahara Q Shop has launched operations in Delhi and NCR for 100 exclusive neighbourhood convenience stores. The company plans to open 400 such stores by March 2014 in the region. There are 901 Sahara Q Shop Stores operating in 12 States. By the end of the current financial year the company has plans to have 10,000 such stores across India. About 2,000 of these will be opened in metros. Sahara Q Shop is the brand name of Sahara India’s mega Quality Consumer Merchandise Retail Venture. Earlier, Sahara Shop entered the coveted record books of Guiness World Record by opening a record number of retail outlets across the country, at one time as on 1st April, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.

5172 Praj Industries is to setting up of the second generation (2G) Cellulosic ethanol plant for about $25 million (about Rs 150 crore). The plant will be set up at Shirala in Maharashtra's Sangli district. The 2G Cellulosic ethanol demo plant will operate on different variety of biomass with a capacity of 100 dry tonnes of biomass per day, which includes agricultural wastes such as corn stover, cobs and bagasse. For this project, Praj will associate with VAAIL, an existing ethanol producer located in Western Maharashtra and a long term client of Praj. VAAIL will provide the land and allied services for the smooth operation of the project. According to the company, the ethanol demo plant will enable Praj to consolidate its 6 years of research and development efforts, starting with laboratory trials to pilot scale trials. Praj Industries Limited offers innovative solutions to significantly add value in bio-ethanol, alcohol, brewery plants, process equipment and water distillation and wastewater treatment systems.

5171 Tata Steel has bagged an order to manufacture 60,000 tonnes of high-quality rail for a new high-speed line linking the two holy cities of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia. The rail line will cross desert, withstanding temperatures ranging from freezing to 50oC, as well as sand storms, flash flooding and shifting dunes. Steel for the project will be made at Tata Steel’s Scunthorpe plant before being rolled into rail in lengths of 25 metres both there and at the company’s plant in Hayange, Northern France. Work for the project will start at the end of this year and is expected to continue throughout 2014. Besides the two holy cities, the line will have three other stops, two in Jeddah for commuters and one in Saudi Arabia’s new King Abdullah Economic City, a residential, industrial and commercial macro-complex that is still being built. Spanish construction companies Copasa, Imathia and OHL are responsible for building the line’s superstructure and the track bases

5170 The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) to consider the allocation of about Rs 2,900 crore for three schemes that include the setting up of cold chains and mega food parks by 2017. There are proposals by the Food Processing and Consumer Affairs Ministries on the agenda list. They have sought approval of funds for implementation of 12th Plan (2012-17) schemes. The Food Processing Ministry has sought approval for release of Rs 1,714 crore funds under Mega Food Park scheme for setting up of already appraised 12 new projects in the current plan. It has also sought allocation of Rs 786 crore funds for setting up of already appraised 75 new cold chains projects.

5169 ASK Pravi Capital Advisors Private Limited has invested Rs 60 crore in Hyderabad-based Omni Hospitals. The investment, made from ASK Pravi’s Private Equity Opportunities Fund, which invests in fast-growing, unlisted small and mid-sized companies benefiting from domestic consumption growth in India, will enable Omni to expand its network of hospitals across south and east India. ASK Pravi Capital Advisors is a JV between ASK Group and Pravi Capital. Omni Hospitals is a tertiary care hospital chain promoted by Incor Group. Surya Reddy Pulagam, managing director of Omni Hospitals said, “Omni plans to expand into a network of tertiary care hospitals across south and east of India in the coming three-five years,”. ASK Pravi Capital Advisors Pvt. Ltd, a joint venture between ASK group and Pravi Capital, a combination of a wealth management and advisory services institution.

5168 Odisha government signs an agreement with Larsen and Toubrofor setting up 28 mega lift irrigation schemes with an investment of Rs 647 crore. The Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik said, "The initiative will help irrigate about 35,450 hectares of agricultural land in drought prone districts of Kalahandi, Bolangir, Boudh and Subarnapur,”. The scheme will be commissioned in 30 months and L&T has been awarded contract for operation and maintenance for five years after completion. The bidding for the balance three clusters of phase I consisting 40 schemes having cultivable command area of about 50,000 hectares will be made in next two phases. Mega lift schemes are primarily aimed for supplementing water demand in the kharif in upland command areas of respective schemes. Irrigation in Rabi season will be provided only on availability of water and the crop planning would be duly approved by district authorities.

5167 Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited has bagged an Rs 265-crore order from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. The order includes, supply and supervision of three gas turbines of 34.5 MW rating each, with associated auxiliaries and control systems for an energy efficient and environment friendly co-generation captive power plant at Kochi Refinery in Kerala. The gas turbine will be operated in the cogeneration mode for meeting the power and process steam requirement of the upcoming Kochi refinery expansion project. The equipment for the project will be supplied by BHEL's Hyderabad plant and Electronics Division, Bangalore. Erection and commissioning of the Gas Turbine package will be carried out by the company's Power Sector - Southern Region. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited is a power plant equipment manufacturer and operates as an engineering and manufacturing company.

5166 National Thermal Power Corporation is likely to start supply of 250 MW power to neighbouring Bangladesh from next month. NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN), a subsidiary of NTPC, is expected to start supplying power to Bangladesh from September 2013. NVVN is the nodal agency for supply of power to Bangladesh. Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) is also expected to purchase an additional 250 MW from the India. The electrical grid interconnection between the two countries would be through a HVDC (high voltage direct current) link between the eastern region of India and the western grid of Bangladesh. The grid will facilitate cross-border power transfer of 500 MW. The transmission system on the Indian side will be executed by the Power Grid Corporation of India, which would also provide consultancy to Bangladesh, up to the commissioning for the project.

5165 Cadbury India will set up its biggest manufacturing facility in the Asia-Pacific region in Andhra Pradesh's Sri City business hub with an initial investment of over Rs 1,000 crore. The manufacturer of Cadbury Dairy Milk, Bournvita and Oreo biscuits plans to add three more phases involving a total investment of at least Rs 2,000 core by 2020. The first phase is expected to start by mid-2015. Cadbury India has signed an agreement with Sri City to take on lease 134 acres for the facility in the business city with special economic zones, domestic tariff zones and free trade and warehousing zones on the AP border, located close to Chennai. The business city now houses over 90 industrial units from 25 countries. According to company, the multi-category food campus it is setting up at Sri City will have the largest chocolate manufacturing plant in the country. The facility is expected to create close to 1,600 direct jobs in total.

5164 EIH Ltd may develop the proposed Goa project as a joint venture. The company obtained ‘planning approval’ for the 55-acre beach front site at Goa and is awaiting environment clearance. This is one of the two declared project proposals on its own land. The other one is a 250-key Oberoi and luxury branded residences in Bangalore on an eight acre. The company will manage a property owned by the Reliance group, Navi Mumbai. Construction of the Navi Mumbai property would begin soon. It will be a 160-key asset, to be managed by EIH under its mid-market brand, Trident. The other upcoming EIH managed properties in the country include a 126-key -- The Oberoi, Pune, and Trident Hyderabad, a 326-key will open shortly. EIH Limited engaged in the ownership, management, and operation of five star deluxe and five star properties.

5163 Coal India is planning to spend Rs 25,400 crore during 2012-17 on its projects. Other than that, it will also invest around Rs 25,000 crore for acquisition of coal assets abroad and Rs 10,000 crore for development of coal blocks in Mozambique. The company will acquire heavy mining equipment at a cost of about Rs 8,500 crore. Besides, The company is also plans to invest Rs 7,045 crore in three major railway infrastructure facilities which are needed for transportation of coal from three coalfields. The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) has recently approved the investment in the rail networks in Auranga, Korba and Sundergarh. 5162 Piramal Enterprises Limited has received approval from the US FDA for its Investigational New Drug (IND) P7435, for treatment of metabolical disorders. P7435 has been developed by the NCE Research Division of PEL for the management of metabolic disorders such as lipid abnormalities and diabetes. It is well-established that an increased lipid level (including triglycerides) is one of the major risk factors for cardiovascular disease (CVD). Piramal Enterprises has established the safety and tolerability of ''P7435'' in a phase I trial recently completed in India. It is now planning to initiate extended phase I trial in the US to further evaluate the safety and efficacy of the new chemical entity in a larger population. Piramal Enterprises Vice Chairperson Swati Piramal said: "Expansion of this trial will allow testing this NCE in a wider population, which is critical to the development of this drug and will provide therapeutic solutions not just to India but also to the rest of the world. 5161 Supreme Infrastructure India Ltd. has won orders aggregating to Rs.1,111.90 crore from different customers across the country. The company has bagged two contracts for Rs.295.40 crore from West India. Which includes, an EPC contract for Rs.150 crore for carryout out 2 sewage treatment plant (STP) and laying of sewage lines and road restoration at Bhayeder, Mumbai, while the other order was for Rs.145.40 crore from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL) for supply, testing, construction, erection of sub transmission line on turnkey basis at Thane city, under Greater Mumbai town under Bhandup zone. From North part of country, the company has bagged four work orders aggregating to Rs.492.50 crore. The first one was for Rs.208.30 crore from Emaar MGF for construction of civil structure, finishing, and low side service works for Gurgaon Greens Project at Sector-12, while AWHO has placed an order for Rs.194.20 crore for construction of housing for army welfare at Gurgaon, Haryana. A road contract for Rs.17 crore has also been received in the region. The third EPC contract amounted to Rs.50 crore from Silicon Construction Pvt. Ltd. for construction of Burj one residential project (Phase-I) at Silicon Square located on the New Delhi-Chandigarh National Highway, and the fourth order was for Rs.40 crore from Punjab Energy Development agency for setting up a 4 MW solar power plat in Punjab on public private partnership mode. Besides, from East India, The company obtained two orders valued Rs.307 crore for four laning and construction of commercial complex. It bagged an EPC contract for Rs.212 crore for construction of 30 km laning of Barasat-Krishnagar in West Bengal under NHDP phase-II, while NBCC Ltd. has placed an EPC contract for Rs.95 crore for construction of twenty one storied commercial complex at New Town, Rajarhat, Kolkata.

5160 Oil and Natural Gas Corporation has signed a crude oil sale agreement with Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL). The agreement covers the supply of Mumbai High crude from JNPT and offshore platform to MRPL. The approximate value of the crude oil to be supplied from ONGC over a five-year period is Rs 38,500 crore. The manner in which the agreement was worked out further cements the strict corporate governance practised by ONGC, as the agreement was closed at ‘arm’s length’ and on par with the regulations applicable to oil marketing companies. 5158 The Indian government has cleared 12 FDI proposals worth Rs.343.39 crore. the decision on Rs 5,168 crore proposal of Mylan Inc to acquire an Indian pharma company engaged in manufacture of generic pharma products was “kept in abeyance” till the formulation of the revised FDI policy by DIPP. The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) is in the process of finalising its FDI policy on Brownfield pharma projects involving transfer of control. The proposals which were cleared by the FIPB include that of Sutures (I) Pvt Ltd to increase FDI holding in the company by another 26 per cent, from the current 35.28 per cent worth Rs 160 crore. 5157 Mirah Group is plans at investing about Rs 200 crore in the next three years to expand its food & beverages business in India and the overseas. Mirah Group is also present in other verticals like hospitality and real estate. Under the food & beverages vertical, it operates brands like Rajdhani, Mad Over Donuts (MOD), Manchester United Cafe, Cafe Mangii and Falafel. Mirah Group Managing Director Gaurav Goenka said, "Mirah Group will invest Rs 200 crore in next three years. Of this, about Rs 65-70 crore will be spent on Rajdhani and the balance for our other brands,". 5156 A consortium comprising Siemens, Siemens AG and Siemens, China, has bagged a turnkey project worth about 70 million (about Rs 565 crore) from IL&FS Rail Ltd (a subsidiary of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Ltd). It involves extension of the Gurgaon metro line with a new 7 km southern line. The line will add six stations in south-east Gurgaon. Sanjiv Rai, CEO of IL&FS Rail Ltd, said “The Gurgaon metro project is a first of its kind in India; the first phase is close to completion. 5154 Engineers India Ltd has bagged a Rs 670-crore contract from Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL) for the construction of a coker unit that will convert residual oil in the refinery into fuel. A coker or coker unit is an oil refinery processing unit that converts the residual oil into low molecular weight hydrocarbon gases, naphtha, light and heavy gas oils, and petroleum coke. Scope of work involve in the project are, project management, residual process design, detailed engineering, procurement, inspection & expediting, tendering, construction management & supervision, including quality assurance, assistance in start-up, pre-commissioning, commissioning & guarantee test runs for units and facilities of plant. 5153 Jindal Steel and Power will commission 2.5 million tonne electric arc furnace at its upcoming Rs 30,000 crore steel mill in Angul, Odisha. JSPL will conduct trial runs to stabilise the furnace. Post stabilisation, which will take few months, its steel making capacity will increase to 6 million tonne per annum. The company has already invested over Rs 17,000 crore on the project. It has now started working on the second phase of 4 MTPA steel making capacity. The company hopes to complete the second phase of Angul by January-February 2016. JSPL is particularly focusing on tapping the housing sector and will be investing about Rs 500 crore on the retail segment. 5150 Panasonic will invest Rs 1,500 crore in India over the next three years as it looks to increase revenues to $3.66 billion (over Rs 22,000 crore) from the country by 2015. Managing Director of Panasonic India, Manish Sharma said, “With a studied focus, strong plans and an investment of Rs 1,500 crore towards expansion in the next three years”. Out of this planned investment, Rs 450 crore will be put in during 2013-14. 5149 Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will start developing its facility on 100 acres of land at the special economic zone (SEZ) from August 10. The foundation laying ceremony and construction of the TCS facility will take place on August 10 in the Super Corridor area on the outskirts of Indore. Under the first phase, the company will develop its premises with an investment of Rs 550 crore within two years. After the completion of first-phase, 5000 people will get direct employment and 15,000 others will get indirect employment at the facility. The facility will be completed fully in five phases, after which 25,000 people would get direct and another one lakh would get indirect employment. The Madhya Pradesh government has provided 100 acre of land to TCS at concessional rates on the super corridor with an agreement that 50 per cent of jobs would be given to people from the state. 5147 The government has approved Rs 740 crore fund for the 12th Plan period for Food Processing Ministry''s scheme to facilitate the setting up of units and technology upgradation. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries for continuing the scheme of technology upgradation /establishment of Food Processing Industries during the 12th Plan (2012-17). The scheme envisages back ended subsidy by way of grant- in-aid. Now, it has been included in the newly launched Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Mission on Food Processing (NMFP) in the 12th Plan, for implementation through state government. The cases which were received during the 11th plan and are pending, would be considered for sanctioning the financial assistance by the respective State Governments in the 12th plan
