6036 Brys Group has given a Rs 330-crore contract to UAE-based Arabian Construction Company for the development of 81-storey tower in Noida. Brys Group is developing a super luxury project on Noida Expressway which is spread over 7.5 acres and comprises 291 flats at an investment of about Rs 850 crore. "We have awarded the contract to Arabian Construction Company (ACC) for building the structure of the tower. The value of the contract awarded to ACC is about Rs 330 crore," Brys Group Chairman and Managing Director Rahul Gaur said. He said the company would award the contract for finishing the work to ACC at a later stage. "This will be North India's tallest residential tower with a height of 292 meters, having 81 floors," Gaur said. Brys Group had bought this land in 2012 from real estate firm Logix. Asked about the project cost, Gaur said it would be around Rs 850 crore, which will be funded through bank loans and advances against sales. "We will be the main contractor for construction of the building. This would be the fourth project for ACC in India. We have expertise in constructing high-rise buildings," ACC India Pvt Ltd Managing Director Ani Ray said. ACC is constructing a 117-storeyed 'World One' project in Mumbai for Lodha Developers in a joint venture with Simplex Infrastructure, touted as the tallest residential building in the country. Ray said the company has bagged a Rs 550-crore contract from Supertech to construct 80-storey tower and another Rs 350-crore contract for 60-floor project in Kolkata. ACC has built some of the tallest and iconic buildings in the world like Princess Tower (105 floor, 414 metre) in Dubai Marina, he said, adding that the company has also constructed Emirates.

6022 Public Works Department will implement projects worth Rs 14,500 crore as part of the Mission 676 announced by the State Government. This includes 23 road development projects worth Rs 6000 crore under Speed Kerala Programme, monorail projects worth Rs 6000 crore and NH development projects worth Rs 2500 crore. He said that tender process has already begun for the monorail projects in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode. Mission 676 envisages to bring in IT Corridor and flyovers in Kochi, as part of the Speed Kerala programme. Ten Speed Kerala projects have got administrative sanction. The minister said that land acquisition for Edappally flyover will begin on Monday and its deadline will be 2015. In three months, construction will begin on the Kundannoor flyover worth Rs 90 crore and Vyttila flyover worth 108 crore, the minister said. He said that tender process for Palarivattom flyover will be completed on June 1. The minister said that along the 170-km Thiruvananthapuram-Cherthala stretch, a 30-metre-wide six-lane highway would be completed in two years. Earlier, the Thiruvananthapuram-Kuttippuram National Highway being mired in land acquisition problems was abandoned by the National Highways Authority of India. Kerala State Transport Project, City Roads Development Project and State Road Improvement Project have not been included in Mission 676. The minister said that the second phase of KSTP has begun and the first phase of CRDP and the tender process for SRIP has been completed.

6019 The district administration, with assistance from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporations, has initiated the land acquisition process for the Bhama-Askhed project. Notices have been issued to land owners in Kuruli near Chakan seeking their land for the project. About three hectares will be acquired in Kuruli for a 200 MLD water treatment plant which will come up first. The Bhama Askhed project will have a 42-km pipeline from the dam to the Pune Municipal Corporation limits. Two km of the pipeline will be on private property. According to a government resolution, 1.3 TMC water from Bhama Askhed has been allocated to PMC to meet its drinking water needs. There are six government agencies that own land in this stretch. Of these, five agencies including the forest, irrigation, public works department and also the zilla parishad and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation, have agreed to give their land. The civic administration will get funds from the Centre for the project under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). In July, last year the government had approved Rs 380 crore for the project. Two-phase project The first phase comprises laying of a 26-km pipeline, with a cost of Rs 125 crore. In the second phase, a 16-km pipeline worth Rs 72 crore will be laid. Water from the reservoir will benefit fast-growing areas on Pune-Ahmednagar Road like Dhanori, Kalas, Vadgaonsheri, Vimannagar, Wagholi and Kharadi which face water scarcity, especially during summer.
