6054 The Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) has bagged the contract for the dredging of the northern arm of Visakhapatnam Port, which is the last of the three dredging works being taken up by Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) to increase the navigable depths at the major port. Dharti Dredging and Infrastructure Limited (DDIL) and DCI had bid for the project aimed at increasing the depth of the northern arm from the existing 12.5 metres to around 16.5 metres, according to sources. The project estimated at around Rs 32 crore will involve dredging of nearly 1 million cubic metres of soil from the northern arm of the VPT. The completion of the project, the contract for which was awarded two days ago, will enable vessels with a draft of around 14.5 metres to enter the inner channel, leading to increased cargo handling capacity at VPT, said sources. "The formalities are expected to be completed soon and work on the project should start by July. We expect the work to be over within six months, said a senior VPT official.

6053 Centre has sanctioned around Rs 92 crore for a solid waste management project in Srinagar city to make the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir a model city. "The Union Urban Development Ministry has sanctioned a project of Rs 91.97 crore for solid waste management in Srinagar city with an endeavour to make it a model city," Jammu and Kashmir's Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora told reporters here. The Minister said the project, which is under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), has two main components of collection and transportation of solid waste in the city and processing and disposal of the waste at Achan - the lone dumping site in the outskirts of the city here. "An amount of Rs 50.42 crore will be spent on treatment and processing of the waste at Achan, while Rs 40 crore will be utilised on door to door collection of garbage from the city," Jora said.

6052 GIFT City project- has achieved financial closure for the first phase of infrastructure development. The estimated cost of various infrastructure in Phase I of the project is Rs 1818 crore. This cost is to be funded by debt of Rs 1157 crore and balance Rs 661 crore by equity and internal accruals over the next three years, stated an official release here on Tuesday. The debt requirement for developing Phase-I infrastructure of GIFT City of Rs 1157 Crore has been tied up with consortium of five banks led by Syndicate Bank. The other consortium banks are Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Punjab & Sindh Bank and Corporation Bank. The funds will be utilized for developing the state of the art infrastructure planned for the city which includes Road Network, District Cooling System, Automated Solid Waste Management system, Utility Tunnel, Smart ICT, Master Balancing Reservoir, Water and Sewerage treatment plant, Power distribution system and other infrastructure components.

6051 Dhananjay Mahadik has proposed a plan to construct ring roads along the city's periphery to contain traffic chaos caused due to the movement of heavy vehicles. Mahadik's suggestion came in his very first meeting held on Monday with Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) officials, after winning the Lok Sabha elections. He had promised a number of measures to tackle issues faced by the city with a population of around 5.5 lakh during his campaign. "The city is rapidly urbanizing and so problems such as traffic chaos, inadequate facilities for garbage disposal and unplanned growth arise. There should be roads along the periphery for better traffic management. The KMC should prepare a report on this and I will bring funds from the central government," Mahadik said.

6050 Punjab govt approves Rs 270cr project to upgrade Ludhiana STPs Punjab government today approved a Rs 270 project crore to upgrade sewage treatment plants (STPs) in Ludhiana. The decision was taken by Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal while reviewing the Satluj river cleaning project. It was also decided in a meeting to construct a new STP with capacity of 70 million litre disposal (MLD) at Jamalpur with a cost of Rs 90 crore and another at Bhattian of 100 MLD capacity with an outlay of Rs 130 crore, a spokesman said. Badal gave his nod to the upgradation of the existing STP of 48 MLD at Jamalpur, 111 MLD STP at Bhattian, 152 MLD STP at Balloke in Ludhiana.

6049 Ashoka Buildcon, engaged in building and operating road and bridge projects in India, announced that the company has been emerged as the lowest bidder at the bid opening meeting held on May 29th 2014, at the office of North Bihar Power Distribution Company, at Patna. The project cost is INR 3.73 billion. The company emerged as lowest bidder for the project viz. Composite Tender for Rural Electrification works under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) in Xllth Plan and strengthening of Distribution Network under Special Plan (BRGF) for Vaishali District in the state of Bihar.

6048 A project for the four-laning of the 96-km-long Kaithal-Ambala National Highway in Haryana has been approved by the National Highway Authority of India. The project will cost Rs 724 crore, said Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) and Industries Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala here today. Surjewala said Kaithal-Karnal Road in Kaithal City has been six-laned upto Pehowa Chowk at a cost of over Rs 12.40 crore. Similarly, the six-laning of Kaithal-Kurukshetra Road in Kaithal city, six-laning of Kaithal-Ambala Pehowa Chowk Road to bypass and construction of a bypass from Kaithal-Khanauri Road to Kaithal-Jind Road have been carried out to provide better transportation facility to common people.

6047 JK Lakshmi Cement today said its Rs 1,500 crore manufacturing facility at Durg in Chhattisgarh will start production by the October-December quarter taking the overall capacity to around 10 million tonnes per annum. "The 2.7 mtpa Durg facility will be commissioned by third quarter of the current fiscal. Our cement-making capacity will go up to to 9.3 mtpa with the commissioning from 6.6 mtpa now," JK Lakshmi Cement's Whole-Time Director Shailendra Chouksey told PTI. The company is also putting up a 6.5 LT grinding unit in Surat. With the completion of this project, its cement capacity will further rise to 10 mtpa. The Durg facility, a greenfield unit, is being built on around 600 acres at Ahiwara village with Rs 1,500 crore investment.

6046 The Haryana government plans to set up a gas-based power plant in Faridabad and a coal-based supercritical unit in Yamuna Nagar district. The project is expected to be commissioned during the 13th five year plan (2017 onwards) after allocation of the required quantity of gas. It has also been decided to set up a 660 MW unit, based on supercritical technology, at Panipat in place of existing four units of 110 MW each. The Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd (HPGCL) has purchased 91 acres of land for setting up of the 2X750 MW gas-based plant in village Mothuka/Arwa in district Faridabad, state Power Minister Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav said here today. He said the issue of providing coal linkage for setting up a 660 MW supercritical unit at Yamuna Nagar is being expedited.

6045 Purti Power and Sugar Ltd (PPSL), is in advanced stage of planning a new plant to make biomass-based ethanol in collaboration with Pune-based Praj Industries. The proposed plant may be set up at Bela, over 40km from Nagpur where Purti already has its sugar factory. It is expected that the new venture may begin within a year, say company sources. An investment of Rs80 crore is envisaged for the project, though Purti's share will be in the form of land, power and other facilities, said managing director of PPSL Sudhir Diwe. "We will be providing around 2 acres of land. Electricity generated from the captive power plant at Purti will be used for this plant too," he said. "The plant would have a capacity to make 15,000 litres ethanol per day. Apart from molasses, any other farm waste such as cotton weeds, waste material generated from sugarcane fields to even domestic waste can be used at the plant to make ethanol," said Diwe. Purti has its own ethanol making plant attached to its sugar factory at Bela, but the current production is half of the installed capacity due to the low demand.

6043 Jharkhand energy minister Rajendra Prasad Singh on Thursday said the state government has taken initiative to set up new power plants in the next couple of years. Singh regretted that no a single MW was added in the electricity generation since the state was carved out of Bihar in 2000. Singh told reporters that the government has targeted to set up new power plants in two and half years time and has started work to achieve the goal. The minister said a global tender has already been floated for new power plant of 1320 MW capacity in Patratu. Around 12 players have participated in the bidding, which was likely to be finalised in a fortnight time, he said adding that the new plant would be set in the existing 6500 acres land of the Patratu Thermal Power Station. The new plant would be set at a cost of Rs 8500 crore, he said. Besides, the government has plan to set up another plant of the same capacity in the Patratu, he said adding that the government has plans to set power plant of 1320 MW at Tenughat and Garwah. Singh said Jharkhand government was to get a grant of Rs 5710 crores from the Centre following the unbundling of Jharkhand State Electricity Board and Rs 1500 crore of the amount would be invested in the proposed Tenughat project.

6042 GAIL (India) has proposed to lay a nearly 110 km natural gas pipeline from Jalandhar in Punjab to the Wagah border of India and Pakistan. The project would cost about R500 crore.

6041 Sterlite Technologies subsidiary Sterlite Grid Ltd has won its sixth ultra-mega transmission project (UMTP) awarded by the union power ministry. "Sterlite Grid Ltd has been awarded its sixth ultra-mega transmission project (UMTP) on build-own-operate basis by the Ministry of Power," the company said in a release here. "This Northern Region Strengthening Scheme project (NRSS 29) is part of the National Grid and is designed to carry over 1,000 MW of electricity from Punjab to the Kashmir Valley," it added. The NRSS 29 project was conceived by the Central Electricity Authority to provide a direct link between Punjab and the Kashmir Valley, which has been troubled by frequent blackouts. "A new route was specifically chosen to ensure the line has minimum outages," Sterlite said. "Post-construction, Sterlite Grid will be responsible to ensure that the link is active for 98 percent of the year," it added. The project consists of one substation and 800 circuit kilometres of 400kV lines in the states of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.

6040 Danfoss is setting up a 1 MW solar power plant at its upcoming facility in Oragadam, around 55 km from here, a senior company official said, adding the company will also expand its distribution network in smaller cities to cash in on the increasing demand for its products. "The Rs.6 crore solar power plant with a five-year pay-back will satisfy 10 percent of our energy needs. The project will go on stream when our new plant starts operations by September/October," Danfoss India president Ravichandran Purushothaman. Purushothaman said the company's upcoming $100 million facility will perhaps be the first platinum rated green building/factory in Tamil Nadu.

The state-run generator is studying the option to set up a 2,400-Mw plant in Pudimadaka in Andhra Pradesh, Director Finance Kulamani Biswal said in an interview. NTPC is weighing the plan amid delays in starting its first coal mine and Coal India, the nation's monopoly coal producer, missing output targets. In addition, a drop in the international prices of thermal coal and rising domestic freight costs have narrowed the difference with imported fuel.

6036 Brys Group has given a Rs 330-crore contract to UAE-based Arabian Construction Company for the development of 81-storey tower in Noida. Brys Group is developing a super luxury project on Noida Expressway which is spread over 7.5 acres and comprises 291 flats at an investment of about Rs 850 crore. "We have awarded the contract to Arabian Construction Company (ACC) for building the structure of the tower. The value of the contract awarded to ACC is about Rs 330 crore," Brys Group Chairman and Managing Director Rahul Gaur said. He said the company would award the contract for finishing the work to ACC at a later stage. "This will be North India's tallest residential tower with a height of 292 meters, having 81 floors," Gaur said. Brys Group had bought this land in 2012 from real estate firm Logix. Asked about the project cost, Gaur said it would be around Rs 850 crore, which will be funded through bank loans and advances against sales. "We will be the main contractor for construction of the building. This would be the fourth project for ACC in India. We have expertise in constructing high-rise buildings," ACC India Pvt Ltd Managing Director Ani Ray said. ACC is constructing a 117-storeyed 'World One' project in Mumbai for Lodha Developers in a joint venture with Simplex Infrastructure, touted as the tallest residential building in the country. Ray said the company has bagged a Rs 550-crore contract from Supertech to construct 80-storey tower and another Rs 350-crore contract for 60-floor project in Kolkata. ACC has built some of the tallest and iconic buildings in the world like Princess Tower (105 floor, 414 metre) in Dubai Marina, he said, adding that the company has also constructed Emirates.

6035 A global tender for the construction of the new greenfield airport at Mopa will be floated by the end of July, chief minister Manohar Parrikar said on Friday. The airport will be constructed on a public private partnership (PPP) model. The state has acquired 74 lakh sq metres of land for the airport in Pernem taluka. "The tender should come within 60 days from the date the Union government is sworn in," Parrikar told. He said he is planning to target 6 million tourists by year 2016. Parrikar said his government will focus on getting more starred hotels in the state in the next six months. In the next three months he hopes to see the commencement of the construction of three to four big resorts in the state. "The state government will stress on tourism, non-polluting industries and on an educational hub in the next few months," he said.

6034 Vinati Organics, a specialty chemical company producing aromatics, monomers, polymers and other speciality products, is planning to invest Rs 150 crore in capacity expansion (capex) over a period of the next 18 months. "The capex entails introducing new products as well as setting up of captive cogeneration plant at our Lote facility (Maharashtra)," said Vinati Mutreja, Executive Director, Vinati Organics Ltd, during earnings conference call. Vinati Organics will spend about Rs 50 crore on a cogeneration plant, while rest Rs 100 crore will be used for debottlenecking its existing capacity and adding some new products, which would be derivatives of the existing products. The company expects capex will result in revenues of about Rs 200 crores in the next few years. Vinati Organics is one of India’s leading manufacturers of acrylamido 2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (ATBS), isobutyl benzene (IBB), isobutylene (IB), and other related chemicals.

6032 International hotel chain Kempinski on Thursday announced plans to develop three more properties in India. “We are looking at properties in Mumbai, Kolkata and Kerala. In Kerala, we plan to have a resort in either Kovalam or the backwaters, but we are still in talks,” Duncan O’Rourke, Chief Operating Officer, Kempinski Hotels The group currently has one hotel in India, a 480-room property in New Delhi — Kempinski Ambience Hotel Delhi. Globally, Kempinski has over 70 hotels in operation and plans to open 112 hotels by 2017. Kempinski had in the past a partnership with Leela Hotels in India but parted ways. O'Rourke said: “The contract came to an end and this country is so important to us that we wanted to go solo. We felt ready to do it alone."

6031 Bajaj Electricals Ltd. Said that the Engineering & Project Business Unit of the company had bagged two orders aggregating to Rs.322.92 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (PGCIL) for 765kV transmission line and rural electrification work at Kushinagar District in Uttar Pradesh. The transmission line order was for Rs.159.15 crore and the scope of work involves supply of 765kV double circuit towers, earth wire, hardware and accessories, survey, foundation, erection, stringing, testing and commissioning of transmission line on turnkey basis. The order for rural electrification work was for Rs.163.77 crore and the work was for 33/11kv substation (new + augmentation), 33kV line, 11kV line, distribution transformer stations, LT line and BPL connections. Both the orders are to be completed within 18 months, the company said.

The commissioning of sugar plant along with co-gen unit is planned in Dec 2014 while the sugar refining plant is scheduled to start from Jun 2015. The total revised project cost is Rs. 338.86 crore.

6027 Hilton Hotel will be operational by mid 2015, the hotel will house around 15 floors, of which 11 would host rooms, along with conference rooms and banquet halls. An emailed query to Hilton group remained unanswered. “There are a total of 185 keys in the property along with two restaurants, 1 floor as spa and gym and roof top pool and sky lounge. The second last floor has a business centre. The project is being designed by Studio Symbiosis and will be operational by June 2015,” said a director of Hirise Hospitality, refusing to divulge project cost details. However, the project cost is likely to be over Rs 120 crore, according to sources. According to Amit Gupta, founding partner of Studio Symbiosis, the property will come up on the S.G. Highway area of Ahmedabad, which already houses hospitality brands like Courtyard Marriott and Novotel. In a first, the hotel is being designed on the lines of flowing waves by the architect firm Studio Symbiosis. “Seamless waves flowing on the landscape and flowing on the façade are the focal point of the design proposal for this full service five star property. Designed as an iconic building the proposal looks at interweaving the concepts of waves in nature, fold lines as movement trajectories and perception along with programmatic requirements,” said Gupta.

6026 Alstom T&D India, a unit of France's Alstom, has bagged a Rs.50.66 crore contract to renovate and modernise grid substations in Bihar. "Alstom T&D India has secured an order worth Rs.506.6 million to renovate and modernise 132/33KV grid substations across various locations for Bihar State Power Transmission Company Ltd (BSPTCL)," the company said in a release here Wednesday. "Under this contract, Alstom T&D India will replace ageing and defective substation equipment with new, advanced technology, including 132 kV and 33kV outdoor circuit breaker, isolator, lightning arrestors and relay control panels," it said. The project, that will strengthen the transmission system and enhance power evacuation capacity, involves renovation and modernisation of nine different locations in Dehri, Biharsharif and Purnea transmission zones of BSPTCL. Bihar plans to invest in revamping its power sector, and to replace obsolete infrastructure, increase power capacity and provide reliable and uninterrupted electricity to its 11 crore population, the statement said.

6022 Public Works Department will implement projects worth Rs 14,500 crore as part of the Mission 676 announced by the State Government. This includes 23 road development projects worth Rs 6000 crore under Speed Kerala Programme, monorail projects worth Rs 6000 crore and NH development projects worth Rs 2500 crore. He said that tender process has already begun for the monorail projects in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode. Mission 676 envisages to bring in IT Corridor and flyovers in Kochi, as part of the Speed Kerala programme. Ten Speed Kerala projects have got administrative sanction. The minister said that land acquisition for Edappally flyover will begin on Monday and its deadline will be 2015. In three months, construction will begin on the Kundannoor flyover worth Rs 90 crore and Vyttila flyover worth 108 crore, the minister said. He said that tender process for Palarivattom flyover will be completed on June 1. The minister said that along the 170-km Thiruvananthapuram-Cherthala stretch, a 30-metre-wide six-lane highway would be completed in two years. Earlier, the Thiruvananthapuram-Kuttippuram National Highway being mired in land acquisition problems was abandoned by the National Highways Authority of India. Kerala State Transport Project, City Roads Development Project and State Road Improvement Project have not been included in Mission 676. The minister said that the second phase of KSTP has begun and the first phase of CRDP and the tender process for SRIP has been completed.

6020 NHPC and Kerala State Electricity Board have signed an agreement for development of solar power projects. In the first phase under this agreement, NHPC shall take up implementation of 50 MW grid-linked solar power project at West Kallada Panchayat in Kollam District of Kerala, NHPC said in a statement. It, however, did not elaborate financial details of the agreement between the two parties.

6019 The district administration, with assistance from Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporations, has initiated the land acquisition process for the Bhama-Askhed project. Notices have been issued to land owners in Kuruli near Chakan seeking their land for the project. About three hectares will be acquired in Kuruli for a 200 MLD water treatment plant which will come up first. The Bhama Askhed project will have a 42-km pipeline from the dam to the Pune Municipal Corporation limits. Two km of the pipeline will be on private property. According to a government resolution, 1.3 TMC water from Bhama Askhed has been allocated to PMC to meet its drinking water needs. There are six government agencies that own land in this stretch. Of these, five agencies including the forest, irrigation, public works department and also the zilla parishad and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation, have agreed to give their land. The civic administration will get funds from the Centre for the project under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). In July, last year the government had approved Rs 380 crore for the project. Two-phase project The first phase comprises laying of a 26-km pipeline, with a cost of Rs 125 crore. In the second phase, a 16-km pipeline worth Rs 72 crore will be laid. Water from the reservoir will benefit fast-growing areas on Pune-Ahmednagar Road like Dhanori, Kalas, Vadgaonsheri, Vimannagar, Wagholi and Kharadi which face water scarcity, especially during summer.

6018 Supertech today said it will invest Rs 1,000 crore over the next four years to develop a new project in Gurgaon. It will be the company's second project in Gurgaon. Supertech will develop 2,092 housing units in this project named 'Hues' that is spread over nearly 28 acre. "We have acquired 70 acres land in Gurgaon. In the first phase, we are launching a group housing project on 27.5 acre land comprising 2,092 housing units," Supertech Chairman and Managing Director R K Arora told reporters. Supertech Director Mohit Arora said the total investment to develop the first phase would be Rs 1,000 crore and it will be through internal accruals, bank loans and advances from customers. The company has started construction of the project and the apartments will be delivered in the next 36-42 months, he added.

6017 Union ministry of forests and environment has accorded environmental clearance for the much awaited proposed extension project of the Barauni Thermal Power station (BTPS) (250x2 MW), paving way for starting work on construction of the plant. The matter was pending before the ministry since October last. Since the Rs 3,666 crore project will be fully state-owned, the entire power generated by the plant will be available to Bihar. In a recent communication to the Bihar State Power Generating Company Limited (BSPGCL), a Union ministry official said, "Environmental clearance shall be valid for five years from the date of issue of this letter to start operations by the power plant."

6016 To ensure that water supply is not disrupted due to tripping of power lines, the Gurgaon district administration is mulling a proposal to lay dedicated underground electricity cables from Daultabad power sub-station to its water treatment plant at Basai. The proposal was mooted at a meeting called by Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Vidyarthi with officials of power utilities and departments related to water supply here today. Gupta said the problem erupted due to frequent tripping of electricity lines to the water treatment plant. He said the power utilities should ensure uninterrupted power supply to the treatment plant. In the meeting, Executive Engineer of Power Utilities V K Aggarwal said at present the Sector 10 A power feeder was being upgraded which will take another 15 days to complete.

6014 Delhi, Noida Authority has decided to go ahead with its Rs 200 crore Yamuna riverfront development project. The project, however, is raising eyebrows of environmentalists who have decided to take the matter to National Green Tribunal (NGT). Chairman of Noida and Greater Noida authorities, Rama Raman, said the project will not be shelved as it involves developing recreational facilities like parks, Yoga centres, picnic spots and sports centres without disrupting the natural flow of Yamuna. "According to our plan, recreational facilities will be developed on spaces where Yamuna water does not reach even in the rainy season," said Raman. Delhi Development Authority (DDA), however, said that it would scrap its ambitious Yamuna riverfront development (YRFD) project so that the river's floodplains are not disturbed. The DDA reaction follows the recommendation given by an expert panel to the NGT, which says that recreational spots located in active floodplain areas would kill the river and cause floods in the city. The Noida and Greater Noida authorities' Rs 200 crore budget, which has been approved, includes developing polo grounds, golf course, children's park and other sports facilities on Hindon and Yamuna floodplains, Raman said.

6013 The Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) has proposed the idea of setting up an Arabic university considering the State’s historic, cultural and academic ambience for such a centre of learning. A detailed project report drawn up by KSHEC on the project was submitted to the State Government yesterday. According to council secretary Dr P Anvar, the proposal was to set up a campus university on the lines of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi. Apart from courses in Arabic language and literature, studies and research to be promoted by the proposed university would focus on the growing role of West Asia in world affairs. The report cited the centuries-old association of Kerala with the Arab world, even pre-dating Islam, and the cultural influence of the Arabs in a variety of spheres, including literature, linguistics and history. “The proposed university could be a major initiative in bringing to academic focus the fraternal relationship between Kerala and the Arab world,” Dr Anvar told PTI. According to the project report, the proposed university could also become a centre of academic studies and research in a variety of conventional and non-conventional disciplines with a futuristic view.

6012 Amway India expects its Rs 600-crore manufacturing unit, being set up near Madurai, to become fully operational by mid-2015, a senior official of the company said. Production activities at Amway's greenfield manufacturing facility at Nilakottai (Dindigul district) near Madurai in Tamil Nadu is likely to commence by this year-end and it would be fully operational by mid-2015, company Vice-President East of Amway India, Diptarag Bhattacharjee told reporters here. The company would manufacture nutrition and beauty products predominantly at the said unit, he added.

6011 Jaypee Group plans to diversify into healthcare by investing in excess of Rs 2,000 crore over the next 3-4 years to set up a hospital chain with a minimum capacity of 3,000 beds. This investment doesn't include a major chunk of the cost of the land, given that the group intends to develop tertiary and super-speciality hospital facilities in cities where it already owns land parcels. The first such 1,200-bedded facility will come up in Noida, with an investment of over Rs 500 crore, said Dixit, adding that it has just begun operation in parts. "It's a large facility with state-ofthe-art equipment and we plan to kick off operations of different specialities in phases," she said. besides Noida, the group has decided to float a hospital chain in northern India, covering cities such as Agra, Bulandshahr, Kanpur, Sahibabad, where it plans to build 500-bedded and 250-bedded large hospitals.

The hotel with 238-keys is a part of the mixed use project, expected to be started in 2016-17. Along with the hotel, Ritz will also manage around 140 apartments in the adjacent tower. This will be The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company's second property in India, after its first property opened in Bangalore last year. "We will invest total Rs 750 crore on hotel development and this will be financed by sale of residential units in this project," said Vikas Oberoi, CMD, Oberoi Realty.

6009 Realty firm Tata Housing will invest about Rs 450 crore over the next four years to develop a new housing project in Kolkata. This is the company's second project in Kolkata, Tata Housing said in a statement. Tata Housing, the real estate arm of the Tata Group, would develop more than 700 apartments in the 13-acres project 'Avenida' that is located at New Town, Rajarhat in Kolkata, the company said in a statement. "With the ever growing appetite for luxury residences with ultra-modern facilities in India, launch of Avenida in Kolkata is in line with our expansion plans to reinforce our presence in the luxury space in Kolkata. We are confident that Avenida our 2nd project will also become a landmark project in Rajarhat," Tata Housing MD and CEO Brotin Banerjee said. Sources said the total investment in this project is estimated to be around Rs 450 crore over the next 3-4 years. The construction will start this month and project is expected to be delivered by 2017, they added. Tata Housing is a closely held public limited company and a subsidiary of Tata Sons Ltd, which holds 99.86 per cent of stake in the realty firm. The company has 70 million sq ft under various stages of planning and execution and an additional 19 million sq ft in the pipeline. It is offering products ranging from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 14 crore.

6008 The Maharashtra cabinet today approved the Rs 2,731-crore BHEL project in Bhandara district to produce solar photo voltaic cells providing employment to 3,000 people. The company will produce 240 mw solar photo voltaic cells and 100 mw photo voltaic modules at its plant in Sakoli in Bhandara district. This will be the Central government's first project in Vidarbha and it can avail subsidies from the National Clean Energy Fund (NCEF). MIDC has provided 480 acre land to BHEL for the project.

6006 HUDA has proposed a project to construct three foot overbridges (FOBs), worth nearly Rs 7.44 crore, near the HUDA City Centre Metro station. The proposal has been sent for approval to HUDA Administrator P C Meena's approval. The project is estimated to take three months from the date of approval for completion. "The location of the HUDA City Centre Metro station is such that it connects various important landmarks, including Signature Towers, IFFCO Chowk, Subhash Chowk and Sector 56, among others A lot of multinational companies are also located in this area and their employees get off at this station," said HUDA superintendent engineer-II A K Maken.

6005 IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd on Wednesday said it has emerged as a selected bidder and received a letter of award from the government to build a toll road in Haryana at an estimated cost of Rs.2,300 crore.
