6441 BHEL has commissioned another 660 MW super-critical or energy efficient unit of NTPC's Barh thermal power project in Bihar. The company is currently executing orders for 36 sets of super-critical boilers and 31 sets of super-critical turbine generators. The key equipment for the project has been manufactured by BHEL at its Haridwar, Trichy, Hyderabad and Bengaluru works,while the construction of the plant was undertaken by the company's Power Sector.

6440 JSW Steel plans to invest Rs 800 crore to Rs 1,000 crore at its Salem unit in Tamil Nadu. The facility, which produces special steel and currently supplies largely to the automobile sector, will start catering to the aerospace sector. The company is also in talks to buy the Cuddalore Port in the state to cater to the needs of the plant.

6439 Air-conditioner maker Blue Star Ltd, is planning to set up a manufacturing facility down South, as its room AC manufacturing unit in Himachal Pradesh. The company plans to invest close to Rs 150 crore to set up a 500,000 units per annum facility in southern India, which currently accounts for nearly 47 per cent of its sales. The tentative investment would be to the tune of Rs 150 crore and the capacity planned is around 500,000 units per annum.

6438 Odisha's State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) approved a Rs.101 crore investment proposal in the state. The SLSWCA gave nod to the proposal of Himadri Chemicals and Industries Ltd. to set up manufacturing of Coal Tar Pitch at Kenghati in Sambalpur district with an investment of around Rs.56.63 crore. It also approved the proposal of Nandini Real Infra Ltd. to set up a steel slag recycling unit at Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur district with an investment of around Rs.55 crore.

The proposed flyover will have three to four arms, of which, one of them will connect to Guru Nanak Road and the other will connect to Andheri station road, Versova beach (coastal road) will also be connected by one of the arms. BMC is planning to invite tenders soon and the company is taking up a project from MMRDA, for which the authority had already carried out a feasibility report. The BMC will soon be inviting tenders for the project, but work will start only after the monsoons are over. The project is estimated to cost Rs 90 crore.

6428 The approved 15,000 Mw of grid-connected solar power projects of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC). This target is in line with the National Democratic Alliance government's ambitious target of 100,000 Mw of solar power by 2022. The NTPC would execute this scheme in three tranches through its wholly owned power trading arm NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam. The entailed investment for the first phase is Rs 18,000 crore. Land for 1,000 Mw out of the first tranche of 3,000 Mw has been identified in Andhra Pradesh.

6413 Berger Paints India Ltd has signed MoU with the Government of Stavropol Region, Russian Federation, for setting up an industrial coatings plant in the region. Berger would also conduct a feasibility study to be completed by this year for setting up the plant. Stavrapol is an industrially developed area in the southwest corner of Russia with an automobile manufacturing facility, apart from other industries. It has allocated 6 hectares to Berger for the facility.

6412 Airports Authority of India (AAI) has given in-principle approval for setting up a cargo terminal at Surat airport. The proposal for setting up the terminal was pending with AAI for the last couple of years. The cargo terminal is expected to ease the movement of precious cargo including diamonds, gold and jewellery from Surat.

6407 Bihar State Building Construction Corporation is taking up a project for the construction of warehouses at seven different locations at Bhagalpur, Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Jamui, Begusarai and Khagaria in Bihar. For the project Richa Industries is the contractor and they will construct 7 warehouses with 5000 tonne capacity each. As of February 2015, BSBCCL has awarded the order to Richa Industries, which includes engineering, design, fabrication, shipment, erection and commissioning of the building.

6406 Medanta Group working on a plan to set up five hospitals in next five years with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore. The group company want to open their ultra-modern hospitals in Lucknow, Patna, Jaipur and Mumbai and abroad as well. They have invested more than Rs 60 crore to start the 160-bedded hospital and have plans to expand it to 500-bed units in next 2-3 years with an estimated investment of Rs 600 crore.
