soil investigation for provisioning of deficient married accommodation for officers and airmen at af stn dinjan ( ph-i ) , ( a ) boring through sand / clay / silt strata from ground level to 10 mtrs depth and bore 150mm dia. ( b ) carrying out standard penetration test in bore in bore holes as per is: 2131-1985. ( c ) collecting disturbed samples at every 0.50 mtr or change of strata including packing and handling all complete. ( d ) collecting undisturbed soil samples at 1.00 mtr or change of strata including packing and handling all complete as per is: 2132-1985. ( e ) carrying out laboratory test for :- ( i ) grain size ( ii ) liquid and plastic limits ( iii ) natural moisture content ( iv ) specify gravity ( v ) bulk and dry density ( vi ) shear characteristics of undisturbed samples using direct shear / triaxial shear test ( vii ) unconfirmed compression test ( viii ) consolidation test ( ix ) atterberg limitstest ( x ) chemical analysis of soil and ground water that i.e. ph value, chloride content and sulphate content. ( f ) the report to include clearly the following parameters :- ( i ) suggested sizes and depth of foundation to be taken for single / double storied building. ( ii ) recommendation of sbc and type of foundation ( iii ) recommendation of pile with pile capacity in case weaker strata is encountered and other recommendation for foundationif necessary. ( iv ) recommendation of exisiting soil for backfill purpose. ( v ) the report shall be vetted by iit / nit / any govt engineering college for verification. ( vi ) six set of binder hard copy along with photographic record of site work and 02set of soft copy with calculation shall be submitted with report.
