soil investigation for a work at af stn mohanbari , carrying out soil investigation as given below: - (a) boring through sand/ clay/ silt strata from ground level to 10 mtrs of 150 mm dia bore (b) carrying out standard penetration test in bore holes as per is 2131. (c) collecting disturbed sample at every 0.5 mtr or change of strata including packing and handling all complete. (d)collection undisturbed soil samples at 1.0 mtr or change of strata including packing and handling all comlete as per is 2132-1985. (e) carrying out laboratory test for: - (i)grain sizeanalysis. (ii) liquid and plastic limit and swelling index. (iii) nature moisture content. (iv) specific gravity. (v)bulk and dry density. (vi) shear strenght parameters. (vii)unconfined compression test. (viii)consolidation test parameters. (ix) chemical test for solubale chlorides and sulphate content. (f) the report to include clearly the following parameters: - (i) atterberg limit. (ii) layout out of trial pints and bore holes on proposed. (iii) recording of boring as per appx d of is 1892. (iv) soil/rock properties as per detailed exploration (table 3 of is 1892). (v) soil properties. (vi) estimation of safe bearing pressure based on safe bearing capacity as per shear criteria and settlement criteria for rectangular foundations of width of 1.5/2, 0/2.5m in general. the report shall include details calculations of sbc. in case of low bearing capacity recommendation may includebearing capacity calculation sbc & settlement calculation for that foundation also. (vii)recommendation of sbc and type of foundation. (viii) recommendation of pile with pile capacity in case weaker strata is encountered. (ix)other relevant recommendation for foundation and improvement of soil if necessary. (g)recommendation of existing soil for back fill purpose. (h) the report shall be vetted by iit/nit/any govt engineering college for verification. (j)six set of binded hard copy alongwith photographic record of site work and 02 set of soft copy with calculation shall be submitted with report. (k)during scrutiny of report any clarification/amendment required in the report will be carried out without any extra charge. => limited
