The item further includes identification, protection, temporary supports and safe working around existing overground and underground facilities such as water lines, sewage lines, storm water drains, cable trays, overhead/underground electrical cables and any other utilities, including any careful excavation, hand excavation, trial pits, shifting/ stacking of material, and restoration as required, without any extra cost. The item includes dewatering of accumulated water from any source such as rainwater, seepage, groundwater, process water etc. by suitable methods including pumping, well point system, bailing out, diversion channels and maintaining the excavation dry and workable at all times for subsequent works, including all leads, lifts and handling, complete. The item also includes loading, handling, conveyance, stacking or disposal of excavated material within a lead of 200 m and disposal of surplus excavated earth up to a distance of 1.0 km from the nearest edge of excavation area, including all required spreading, levelling and dressing at disposal location, complete. Rate shall be inclusive of all labour, materials, tools, tackles, plants and machinery, fuel, consumables, supervision, setting out, testing/ measurement, incidental expenses, statutory compliances, safety provisions and all operations necessary to complete the work in accordance with SAIL/CET Technical Specifications, drawings and instructions of Engineer-in-Charge, for all conditions of soil, water table, working space restrictions and site constraints. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever for any item of work covered under this description. Excluding blasting and excavation in soft rock and hard rock. |

Cutting of seized nuts/bolts by cold cutting, vibration less and spark free methods wherever required, including removal of cut pieces, only with prior approval of Engineer-in-Charge.Thread chasing and restoration by die set/tap, cleaning of threads, removal of burrs, straightening of bolts if required, and ensuring nuts can be freely tightened and loosened.Supply and replacement of nuts and washers wherever required for successful refitting, including galvanised or plain as specified, complete.Greasing of cleaned threads after opening for protection against corrosion till final installation, and covering/protection of exposed bolts by tape, cap, jute cloth or wrapping as required.Handling, stacking and safe custody of opened nuts, washers and accessories, and maintaining bolt wise record for reuse.Providing all labour, tools, tackles, consumables, power supply arrangements, scaffolding, safe access, illumination, barricading, fire watch, permits and safety PPE as required for shutdown work.Cleaning of work area and disposal of waste materials, rust, cut pieces and debris to designated locations within plant premises, complete.Rate shall be inclusive of all leads and lifts, repeated applications, multiple attempts, idle time due to access constraints, working in confined spaces, and all incidental expenses required for completion. | 216 | Item No: 5.25Providing, constructing, renovating and making ready B AND R Site Office in the existing abandoned structure/building within DSP plant premises, at all levels and locations, complete in all respects as per SAIL/DSP tender specifications, statutory requirements and direction of Engineer-in-Charge. The item is intended for a complete “ready to use” site office facility and shall include all materials, labour, tools, tackles, plants and machinery, scaffolding, safety arrangements, handling, transportation, all leads and lifts, testing, approvals and incidental expenses. The bidder shall inspect the site condition and quote accordingly. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever.Scope of work included in the quoted rate shall cover, but not be limited to, the following:1. Site clearance and making area usable: a) Clearing of bushes, shrubs, wild vegetation, dry grass and trees obstructing access and working area. b)Removal of accumulated debris, scrap materials, broken sheets, loose rubble and waste.c) Segregation, stacking and disposal of unserviceable materials to designated dumping area within plant premises including lead up to 5 km.d) Barricading, caution boards, safe access arrangement and housekeeping throughout the work.2. Dismantling and demolition work:a) Dismantling of damaged/unsafe roof sheets, cladding sheets, doors, windows, grills, old fittings, loose plaster and unstable portions as required. b) Demolition of unwanted brickwork/RCC/PCC, chipping, cutting and making openings as required for new works. c) Disposal of dismantled materials and debris within plant premises including lead up to 5 km. 3.Civil repairs and strengthening: a) Repair of RCC surfaces including crack treatment, spalling repair, honeycomb repair and patch repairs with approved repair mortar. b)Brickwork/AAC block masonry for new partitions, closing of openings and making new openings as required. c) Plastering to walls and ceiling including internal and external surfaces as required. d)Floor repairs, levelling and providing new flooring finish as specified for office use. e) Waterproofing treatment to roof/terrace and external walls wherever required to make the office leak proof.4. Roofing and cladding: a) Providing and fixing new roofing and wall cladding sheets wherever missing/damaged, including all accessories such as ridge, flashing, gutters and fasteners. b)Providing polycarbonate sheets for daylighting if required. c) Making the roof fully weather tight including sealing of laps and openings.5.
