2	Item No: 1.01Earthwork in excavation below ground level in ordinary soil for all kinds of works, in all types of soils except soft rock and hard rock, as classified in the specification, up to and including a depth of 1.5 m below existing ground level, for all types of foundations, footings, plinth beams, pile caps, underground piping and other substructure works inside the running plant/ shop complete. The item includes, but is not limited to, site clearance and removal of vegetation, shrubs, trees, roots, debris, industrial waste/slag, organic matters and all obstructions; excavation in clay, soft and hard murrum, sand, gravel, soil containing small pebbles, rubble and boulders removable without breaking or blasting; excavation by manual means or mechanically operated equipment such as pick shovels, excavators, front loader etc. setting out, maintaining line, level, slope and profile; cutting and dressing of sides, benches and slopes; levelling, grading, ramming and compaction of bottom surface; provision of safe working conditions including all necessary safety arrangements such as barricading, caution boards, lighting, access and egress; providing and maintaining shoring, strutting, bracing, timbering and all temporary supports required to prevent collapse of excavation and to protect existing structures, foundations and all adjacent/ nearby facilities. The item further includes identification, protection, temporary supports and safe working around existing overground and underground facilities such as water lines, sewage lines, storm water drains, cable trays, overhead/underground electrical cables and any other utilities, including any careful excavation, hand excavation, trial pits, shifting/ stacking of material, and restoration as required, without any extra cost. The item includes dewatering of accumulated water from any source such as rainwater, seepage, groundwater, process water etc. by suitable methods including pumping, well point system, bailing out, diversion channels and maintaining the excavation dry and workable at all times for subsequent works, including all leads, lifts and handling, complete. The item also includes loading, handling, conveyance, stacking or disposal of excavated material within a lead of 200 m and disposal of surplus excavated earth up to a distance of 1.0 km from the nearest edge of excavation area, including all required spreading, levelling and dressing at disposal location, complete. Rate shall be inclusive of all labour, materials, tools, tackles, plants and machinery, fuel, consumables, supervision, setting out, testing/ measurement, incidental expenses, statutory compliances, safety provisions and all operations necessary to complete the work in accordance with SAIL/CET Technical Specifications, drawings and instructions of Engineer-in-Charge, for all conditions of soil, water table, working space restrictions and site constraints. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever for any item of work covered under this description. Excluding blasting and excavation in soft rock and hard rock.

The item includes collection, segregation and selection of suitable earth free from organic matter, rubbish and deleterious materials, breaking clods, removal of oversized lumps, spreading in layers not exceeding 150 mm loose thickness, watering as required, and compaction/ ramming each layer by manual or mechanical means to achieve proper consolidation and finished formation. The item further includes all handling, rehandling, loading, unloading, shifting, stacking, conveyance and transportation of available earth from stockpiles/ spoil heaps or any location within the plant premises to the place of backfilling, including all leads and lifts, including movement restrictions, working in congested areas, limited working space and maintaining safe access in a running plant/ shop. The item also includes dressing, levelling, finishing and making good of surrounding areas, complete. Rate shall be inclusive of all labour, tools, tackles, plants and machinery, fuel, consumables, supervision, safety provisions, lighting, barricading and all incidental expenses required to complete the work as per SAIL/CET Technical Specifications and directions of Engineer-in-Charge. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever for leads, lifts, depth, compaction, watering, rehandling, working constraints inside running plant/ shop, or any other operation required to complete the work.
22	Item No: 1.21Disposal of surplus excavated earth/ unserviceable spoil generated from excavation works (applicable for Item No. 1.01 to 1.05), beyond initial lead of 1.0 km and up to 5.0 km within the Plant boundary/premises, to the designated dumping/ stacking area as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. The item includes loading into tippers/ dumpers or any suitable transport, hauling/ transportation, unloading, spreading, levelling and dressing at disposal location, including all leads and lifts, rehandling, traffic management inside plant roads, working in congested areas and inside running plant/ shop and all required safety provisions such as barricading, caution boards, flagmen and illumination, complete with all labour, tools, tackles, plant, machinery, fuel, supervision and incidental expenses. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever.

24	Item No: 1.23Providing and laying rubble soling under floors with hard, sound, durable broken stone/ rubble of approved quality, well graded in size, hand packed and properly set to a uniform thickness as specified, including filling of interstices with smaller stones, spalls and stone dust, watering and ramming/ compaction to achieve a firm and even base inside the running plant/ shop. The item includes preparation of subgrade, dressing, levelling and consolidation of the surface, providing required camber/ slope, cutting and making good around edges, corners, pipes, sleeves, drains and openings complete for all leads and lifts, including supply of all materials, loading, unloading, transportation, labour, tools, tackles, plant, machinery, supervision, curing and all incidental expenses, as per specification and direction of Engineer-in-Charge. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever.
25	Item No: 1.24Providing and filling washed, clean and screened gravel/ stone aggregate of nominal size 75 mm to 40 mm down graded, in trenches, pits and other locations, to required lines, levels, grades and slopes as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. The item includes supply of approved material, loading, unloading, transportation to site, placing, spreading, levelling, watering if required, and proper compaction/ ramming to achieve firm packing, complete with all labour, tools, tackles, plant, machinery, supervision and incidental expenses, as per specification and directions of Engineer-in-Charge. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever.
26	Item No: 1.25Providing and filling fine river sand (Zone-IV) in foundations, plinth, floors, trenches, pits and around all types of structures, with clean river sand free from organic matter, clay, silt, pebbles, vegetation, shrubs, debris and other deleterious materials, to required lines, levels, grades and slopes as per drawings and specifications. The item includes supply of sand, loading, unloading, transportation, spreading, levelling, watering as required, filling in layers and compaction/ramming by manual or mechanical means to achieve proper consolidation, including all leads and lifts, complete with all labour, tools, tackles, plant, machinery, supervision and incidental expenses, as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever.
27	Item No: 1.26All activities & scope same as per item 1.25 but filling by Coarse Sand.
28	Item No: 1.27Excavation in ordinary soil or filled up material for forming sub-base for road works by box cutting using mechanical equipment, to required width, depth, lines, levels, grade, camber and elevation as per drawings and direction of Engineer-in-Charge. The item includes excavation by excavator/ front loader/ grader or any suitable mechanical equipment, dressing and trimming of formation, removal of loose/ unsuitable material, spreading and levelling, and compaction of prepared subbase at Optimum Moisture Content (O.M.C.) using 8 to 10 tonne smooth wheel/ vibratory roller to achieve the required density and finished profile. The item also includes watering, scarifying, rolling, correction of undulations, making good of soft spots, and disposal or reuse of excavated earth in road embankment or at any other location as directed, including all leads and lifts within the work area. Rate includes all labour, supervision, tools, tackles, plants, machinery, fuel, consumables and incidental expenses, complete, as per specifications and drawings. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever.
29	Item No: 1.28Excavation of trial pits by manual means in all types of soils (except soft rock and hard rock) up to a depth of 1.5 m below existing ground level for locating and determining underground facilities/ services, complete as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. The item includes site clearance and removal of vegetation, shrubs, roots and debris, careful hand excavation, cutting and dressing of sides and slopes as required, levelling and cleaning of pit bottom, and providing necessary protection, temporary supports and safe working around existing utilities such as water pipes, sewage lines, drains, overhead/underground electrical cables, cable trays and any other services. The item also includes dewatering of accumulated water from any source and maintaining the pit dry and safe for inspection, barricading, caution signage, illumination and safe access arrangements, stacking or disposal of excavated material within a lead of 100 m, preparation of location-wise and depth-wise record/sketch of underground facilities identified, and restoration of trial pits to original condition by backfilling with excavated earth in layers with watering and compaction/ramming, including making good of the surface. Rate includes all labour, tools, tackles, supervision and incidental expenses, complete. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever.

32	Item No: 2.01Providing and laying Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) of grade M-10B (Lean Concrete) conforming to IS:456 using approved make/ manufacturer OPC or PPC or PSC, for all depths below and up to plinth level in foundations, drains, fillings, non suspended floors, pavements, ramps and any other works, in all shapes, positions, thicknesses, lines and levels as shown in drawings and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. The item includes supply of all materials by the Contractor including cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and water, batching, mixing, conveying, placing, laying, shuttering/formwork, compaction by tamping/ramming/vibrating, finishing of top surface rough or smooth as specified, curing, protection, providing and treating construction joints wherever required, and making good of edges, complete. Rate shall include all labour, tools, tackles, plants and machinery, scaffolding, fuel, consumables, testing, supervision and all incidental expenses required for completion of the work as per specifications. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever.
33	Item No: 2.02Providing, mixing, placing and laying Plain Cement Concrete (PCC) of grade M-10 conforming to IS:456, using approved make/ manufacturer OPC or PPC or PSC, approved quality sand and 20 mm down graded coarse aggregate, for all depths below & above EGL in foundations, drains, fillings, non suspended floors, pavements, ramps and any other sub-structures, Superstructues works, in all shapes, positions, thicknesses, lines and levels as shown in drawings and as directed by Engineer-in-Charge. The item includes supply of all materials by the Contractor including cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and water, batching, mixing, conveying/ transportation, placing, laying in position, shuttering/ formwork wherever required, compaction by tamping/ ramming / mechanical vibration, finishing of top/ exposed surface rough or smooth as specified, curing for the required period, protection, providing and treating construction joints wherever required, and making good of edges, complete. Rate shall include all labour, tools, tackles, plants and machinery, scaffolding, fuel, consumables, testing, supervision and all incidental expenses required for completion of the work as per drawings, specifications and directions of Engineer-in-Charge. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever.

The item includes design mix concrete with production and quality control as per IS:456-2000, machine mixing only, batching, mixing, conveying/ transportation and placing within stipulated time, placing in position including required construction joints as per IS:456-2000, compaction by mechanical vibration, tamping, finishing of exposed surfaces, curing with water for minimum 7 days, protection, and rectification of honeycombing/ voids/ defects to the satisfaction of Engineer, complete. The item also includes providing all required pockets, openings, recesses, sleeves, block outs, inserts, embedments, chamfering, fillets, grooves, edges finishing and making good, wherever required as per drawings and site conditions, complete. This item also includes chipping/ hacking of existing concrete wherever required to expose reinforcement for lapping/ anchorage, removal of loose concrete, cleaning of exposed bars and concrete surface by wire brushing, cleaning with water, providing proper key and applying cement slurry before placing fresh concrete, complete as directed. Cement wash shall not be applied unless specifically called for in the drawings. Rate shall include all materials including cement, aggregates, sand and water, all labour, tools, tackles, plants and machinery, fuel, consumables, testing and supervision, complete. Reinforcement steel and shuttering/ formwork shall be measured and paid separately and are excluded from this item. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever.
61	Item No: 2.14Manufacturing, supplying, transporting and erecting in position Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) precast elements of grade M-25 using approved quality materials with 20 mm and down size graded crushed stone aggregate/ gravel, such as columns, beams, cover slabs, lintels, louvers, fins, shelves and similar items, each unit up to and including 500 kg, for all leads, lifts, levels, shapes and thicknesses, complete as per drawings, specifications and direction of Engineer-in-Charge. The item includes casting in approved moulds with all formwork/ shuttering/ centering, placing of reinforcement (reinforcement cost excluded), providing lifting hooks, necessary holes, pockets, recesses, chamfers, grooves and edge finishing, vibration/tamping for proper compaction, curing, finishing the exposed/ top surface with cement mortar 1:3 (1 cement : 3 sand) to smooth and even finish or non skid finish as specified, and demoulding, stacking and handling, complete. The item also includes providing and fixing MS inserts/ embedded parts wherever required. Only MS inserts shall be measured and paid separately. All other embedded items, lifting hooks, handling arrangements and incidentals shall be included in the quoted rate. The item includes surface preparation of old concrete by cleaning, removing all loose and unsound concrete, chiselling/ hacking to make the surface rough, removing laitance and taking off the skin of concrete to expose sound substrate, cleaning the surface free from dust, oil, grease and foreign matter, and applying epoxy resin system by brushing/ rolling/ spraying to achieve proper bonding coat, complete. 110	Item No: 2.63Providing and applying crystalline mortar for waterproofing treatment of faulty construction joints, cracks, tie rod holes, spalled and honeycombed RCC surfaces in underground RCC structures such as basement, water tanks, bridge deck and similar works, to ensure water tightness, complete as per specifications and direction of Engineer-in-Charge. The crystalline mortar shall conform to EN 1504-3 with compressive strength Class R4, greater than 45 MPa, and adhesive bond strength Class R3, greater than 1.5 MPa. 111	Item No: 2.64Sealing of cracks and faulty construction joints in RCC structures by routing out and making U shaped groove of size 25 mm x 25 mm along the crack/joint line, complete as per specifications and direction of Engineer-in-Charge. The item includes surface preparation, cutting/routing to required groove size, removal of loose material, cleaning by wire brushing and washing, and priming the routed groove with integral crystalline slurry at the rate of 0.05 kg per running metre. While the primed surface is tacky, filling the groove flush up to surface level with integral crystalline mortar at the rate of 1.50 kg per running metre, including proper compaction and finishing. After the crystalline mortar becomes touch dry, applying two coats of integral crystalline slurry over the treated area at the rate of 0.05 kg per running metre per coat, including curing, protection and all labour, materials, tools, tackles, scaffolding and incidental expenses, complete. 150	Item No: 4.10Making cut outs/ openings in RCC slab and or wall up to a thickness of 400 mm by vibration less and spark free mechanical means such as core cutting or wet cutting using diamond wall saw system, at all depths and heights, including taking all necessary safety precautions, complete as specified and as directed by Engineer in Charge. 151	Item No: 4.11Cutting and dismantling RCC works in pavements, slabs, beams, columns and similar RCC members up to a depth of 450 mm by using vibration less and spark free diamond saw cutter of make HILTI or equivalent, at all depths and heights, in hazardous and fire prone areas within process units and offsite locations having risk of hydrocarbon vapours, complete as per drawings, specifications, fire permit requirements and direction of Engineer in Charge. The item includes preparation and submission of dismantling plan prior to start of work, obtaining necessary permits and clearances, providing all elaborate safety precautions, fire watch arrangements, barricading, caution boards, safe access and working platforms, and carrying out cutting with extreme caution as per permit conditions. Dismantling shall be planned such that each cut piece shall weigh not less than 1.6 MT. The item includes supply, operation and maintenance of diamond saw cutter with all necessary accessories, tools and tackles, cutting through RCC including reinforcement bars and embedded structural steel members, providing scaffolding, staging, propping and underpinning wherever required, handling and shifting of cut pieces, and disposal of RCC debris up to a lead of 100 m including all lifts, complete. 214	Item No: 5.23Providing, applying and carrying out complete nut opening and bolt thread restoration works for existing old and used foundation bolts (approx. 36 years old) for dismantling of existing equipment and installation of new equipment on the same foundations during shutdown, complete as per drawings, site requirements and direction of Engineer-in-Charge.Scope covered in the quoted rate shall include: Site survey, identification and marking of foundation bolts, nuts, washers, base plate pockets and access conditions, including work in congested areas inside running plant.Cleaning of exposed portions of bolts, nuts and washers by wire brushing, scraping, chipping of rust scales and removal of dirt, grease, paint and debris to expose the threads.Application of approved penetrating oil such as WD-40, Rustolin or equivalent on bolt threads, nut bolt interface, washer seating area and embedded pockets, including repeated application as required and providing adequate soaking time.Loosening and opening of nuts by suitable manual and mechanical means such as spanners, ring spanners, pipe wrenches, impact wrench, hydraulic torque wrench, nut splitter or heating methods, as permitted by Engineer-in-Charge and safety rules, without damaging the foundation bolt, embedded anchor plate or concrete. Cutting of seized nuts/bolts by cold cutting, vibration less and spark free methods wherever required, including removal of cut pieces, only with prior approval of Engineer-in-Charge.Thread chasing and restoration by die set/tap, cleaning of threads, removal of burrs, straightening of bolts if required, and ensuring nuts can be freely tightened and loosened.Supply and replacement of nuts and washers wherever required for successful refitting, including galvanised or plain as specified, complete.Greasing of cleaned threads after opening for protection against corrosion till final installation, and covering/protection of exposed bolts by tape, cap, jute cloth or wrapping as required.Handling, stacking and safe custody of opened nuts, washers and accessories, and maintaining bolt wise record for reuse.Providing all labour, tools, tackles, consumables, power supply arrangements, scaffolding, safe access, illumination, barricading, fire watch, permits and safety PPE as required for shutdown work.Cleaning of work area and disposal of waste materials, rust, cut pieces and debris to designated locations within plant premises, complete.Rate shall be inclusive of all leads and lifts, repeated applications, multiple attempts, idle time due to access constraints, working in confined spaces, and all incidental expenses required for completion. 216	Item No: 5.25Providing, constructing, renovating and making ready B AND R Site Office in the existing abandoned structure/building within DSP plant premises, at all levels and locations, complete in all respects as per SAIL/DSP tender specifications, statutory requirements and direction of Engineer-in-Charge. The item is intended for a complete “ready to use” site office facility and shall include all materials, labour, tools, tackles, plants and machinery, scaffolding, safety arrangements, handling, transportation, all leads and lifts, testing, approvals and incidental expenses. The bidder shall inspect the site condition and quote accordingly. No extra claim shall be entertained on any account whatsoever.Scope of work included in the quoted rate shall cover, but not be limited to, the following:1. Site clearance and making area usable: a) Clearing of bushes, shrubs, wild vegetation, dry grass and trees obstructing access and working area. b)Removal of accumulated debris, scrap materials, broken sheets, loose rubble and waste.c) Segregation, stacking and disposal of unserviceable materials to designated dumping area within plant premises including lead up to 5 km.d) Barricading, caution boards, safe access arrangement and housekeeping throughout the work.2. Dismantling and demolition work:a) Dismantling of damaged/unsafe roof sheets, cladding sheets, doors, windows, grills, old fittings, loose plaster and unstable portions as required. b) Demolition of unwanted brickwork/RCC/PCC, chipping, cutting and making openings as required for new works. c) Disposal of dismantled materials and debris within plant premises including lead up to 5 km. 3.Civil repairs and strengthening: a) Repair of RCC surfaces including crack treatment, spalling repair, honeycomb repair and patch repairs with approved repair mortar. b)Brickwork/AAC block masonry for new partitions, closing of openings and making new openings as required. c) Plastering to walls and ceiling including internal and external surfaces as required. d)Floor repairs, levelling and providing new flooring finish as specified for office use. e) Waterproofing treatment to roof/terrace and external walls wherever required to make the office leak proof.4. Roofing and cladding: a) Providing and fixing new roofing and wall cladding sheets wherever missing/damaged, including all accessories such as ridge, flashing, gutters and fasteners. b)Providing polycarbonate sheets for daylighting if required. c) Making the roof fully weather tight including sealing of laps and openings.5. Doors, windows and ventilation: a) Providing and fixing doors including MS/PVC/flush doors as required for office, toilet and store. b) Providing and fixing aluminium sliding windows with glazing and mosquito mesh wherever required. c)Providing and fixing grills, shutters and locking arrangements for safety and security. d)Providing and fixing ventilators, louvers and exhaust provisions as required.
