tender for soil investigation for provision of firing range at af station srinagar.; 1 determining sbc of soil by performing standard penetration test as per nbc, is-1892, 2131, 1888, 2720, 1904, 6403, 8009, 1498, 4968 and sp-36 in general and containing the following in particular ( depth of bore holes may be taken 15 mtr or n value reaches 50, whichever is earlier for isolated / combined / raft foundations duly signed by competent mes officer in duplicate duly spiral bound.however depth of bore holes may be taken as 25m for pile foundation ) ( a ) spt value at every 1 mtr intervals and change of strata. ( b ) grain size distribution and analysis. ( c ) soil characterisitics. ( d ) value of cohesion and angle of internal friction. ( e ) recommended sbc at different depths of foundation separately for the portions with and without basement. ( f ) sbc and its calculation based on n value, shear strength and settlement criteria. ( g ) specific gravity test ( h ) depth of expansive soil and its properties if any. ( j ) recommendation for type of foundation. ( k ) recommendation for filling under floors and filling under protection including plinth portection. ( l ) chemical analysis of soil and recommendation and type of cement to be used for rcc foundation. ( m ) details of soil profile and bore logs. ( n ) modulus of sub grade reaction for raft / mat foundation. ( o ) colour photographs on a4 size photo paper of the site with the locations of the boreholes duly flagged should be submitted.the photographs should also preferably include any reference structure and the identification of the same be marked. ( p ) a cd containing video evidence of the depth of each bore hole and machinery deployed at site location be provided. 2 note:-1. furnishing sbc report in pentuplicate including recording sbc for each location for the type of foundation and maintaining photographic record ( min three photograpghs per hole duly annoted as approved by engr-in-charge. ) 2. rate including all items of works necessary for carrying out complete soil exploration work, collection of sample testing at laboratoty and field test result and submission of reports ( five sets ) .3. rate includes for submission of detailed recommendation for shallow foundation and bearing capacity of soil ( sbc ) at 1.5 / 2.0 / 3.0 m depth, type of foundation and depths of footing be clearly specified.4. in case, very weak soil strata is encountered, recommendation about pile foundation i.e. type , dia, depth of pile, safe load carrying capacity and socketing of pile into hard rock shall be clearly given in the report. also measures for ground improvement if required be included in the report. safe bearing capacity shall be worked out based on n value shear failure and settlement criteria.5. rl of the ground level / founding level with ref to a bm should invariably be mentioned in the soil investigation report.location of bore holes and gl shall be clearly marked on site plan of the proposed bldgs and shall be standard part of the report. 6. recommended sbc should be given for : ( a ) all the bore holes. ( b ) minimum at there depths viz 1.5m, 2.0m and 2.5m.in case os security walls, it should be given for 1.2m, 1.5m, 2.0m and 2.5m etc. ( c ) sbc should be worked out for following sizes of footings : ( i ) 1.5 x 1.5m ( ii ) 1.5 x 2.5m ( iii ) 2.0 x 2.5m ( iv ) 2.0 x 3.0 m ( d ) photographic record of geo-exploration as well as testing shall also form part of the report. ( e ) recommendation as regards possibility of liquefaction of soil in case of saturated or partially saturate loose / uncompacted sandy soils. ( f ) depth of ground water table ( gwt ) in peak monsoon ( lowest ) and peak summer ( highest ) after correlation of result with seasonal variation of water table in the station. ( g ) recommendation for filling under floors.
