repair and refixing of melting , mixing and pre-coat pit coils in sa plant , fact cd . , repair and refixing of melting , mixing and pre-coat pit coils in sa plant , fact cd . , repair & refixing of melting , mixing and pre-coat pit coils in sa plant:work involves:collect the required material/tools and tackles from store/workshop . lift and remove leaky coils from the pit after isolating the coils and providing equivalent quantity of blind flanges . clean the coil/s , remove muck and other solid particles from the coil/s to identify the leak . identification of leak comes under the scope of the contractor and shall be done in the presence of competent personnel from process department . once the leak/s are identified they shall be rectified by preparing the spot necessarily by grinding , followed by welding using proper electrodes . pressure test the coil with 8 ata steam to the satisfaction of process department and engineer in charge . once the repair is complete , erect the coil back , with proper gasketting wherever necessary . any rework on the coil pieces , like the correction of length involving cutting and welding on the existing coil/providing additional spool piece shall be done as per instructions from engineer in charge and will be under contractors scope . the site shall be cleared from scrap and transport the scrap to area earmarked/ scrap yard . , replacing of melting , mixing and precoat pit coils: if coils are found to be replaced with new coil , the coil is to be collected from the store and transported to the site . collection of coils , transportation of the same and preparation of steam inlet and outlet connections for the new coils falls under the scope of the contractor . servicing and replacing of steam trap , valve , fittings etc . , are also to be done by the contractor . cutting and reducing the overall height of the coil if required to suit the pit condition shall be done by the contractor after consultation with th engineer in charge . the erected coils shall be pressure tested using 8 ata steam to the satisfaction of process department and engineer in charge .
