The Cabinet Committee On Economic Affairs Has Approved The Proposal Of The Ministry Of Health And Family Welfare For Setting Up New Medical Colleges Attached With Existing District Or Referral Hospitals. The Project Will Be Completed In 48 Months," A Company Statement Said Here Today. The Contract Involves Construction Of A 5.1 Km Long Tunnel Called T49A, The Substructure Of 445-Metre Long Bridge 2 And A 346-Metre Long Bridge 3, Besides Earthworks At Sumber Yard Totaling A 6.4 Km Stretch On The Dharam-Qazigund Section Of The Jammu & Kashmir Rail Link. 5489 To Improve Water Supply And Sanitation Facilities In The Villages Of Punjab, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal On Wednesday Gave His Nod For Sending A Proposal Worth Rs 2,200 Crore To The Centre For Recommending The Case To The World Bank. The Proposal Would Be Considered By The World Bank For Its Rural Water Supply Sanitation Project Phase-II. The Objective Of This Project Is To Provide Quality Water Supply And Sanitation Facilities In The Rural Areas Of The State, A Spokesperson Of The Chief Ministers Office Said. Under The Proposal, The Punjab Government Has Sought Expansion And Remodeling Of 70 Existing Schemes Of Rural Water Supply And Sanitation In 108 Villages Of Sri Muktsar Sahib And Fazilka Districts At A Cost Of Rs 175 Crore, The Spokesman Said. Likewise, In 800 Villages, The State Government Has Proposed Upgradation Of The Service Level Of Water Supply Schemes From 40 To 70 Litre Water Per Person Per Day With An Investment Of Rs 300 Crore. The First Two Contracts Are For The Design, Engineering, Manufacture, Supply, Erection, Testing And Commissioning Of A 220/132 Kv Gas-Insulated Substation (GIS) Package For The Vidyasagar Industrial Park At Kharagpur And 220 Kv GIS Package For Dharampur. The Orders Are Worth About Rs 66.56 Crore And Rs 33.87 Crore, Respectively. In The Third Contract, Worth Rs 68.3 Crore, Alstom Will Supply A 400 Kv Sub-Station And A 220 Kv Transformer Bay At Gokarna, And A 220 Kv Substation And Feeder Bays At Krishnanagar. The 400 Kv AIS Substation Is Constructed To Evacuate Power From The 1,000 MW Sagardighi Power Plant (Phase II). It Will Be Directly Connected To The Sub-Station Of Powergrid.

5481 As many as 500 more CCTV cameras are being installed across various places in Hyderabad under the Safe City project, Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) B Prasada Rao today said. "The actual requirement in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and Cyberabad Commissionerate is 3,000 plus and gradually we will scale up the CCTV installation to that level," Prasada Rao told reporters here. The state government had in June promulgated AP Public Safety (Measures) Enforcement Act-2013, which makes it mandatory to put in place certain public safety measures in all establishments in view of recurring incidents of terror attack in the city. The State Level Environmental Impact Assessment Authority Of Maharashtra In Its 63rd Meeting "Decided To Accord Environmental Clearance To The Project Under The Provisions Of Environment Impact Assessment Notification, 2006," R A Rajee, Principal Secretary In Environment Department Of Maharashtra Government, Wrote To GAIL On December 23. Environment Minister Is The Final Authority To Grant The Clearance To The Project To Be Set Up Around 200 Km Away From The National Capital. The NPCIL Proposal Seeks Setting Up A Nuclear Power Park, Known As Gorakhpur Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojna (4x700 Mwe), At Fatehabads Gorakhpur Village. 5454 Pepsico India plans to build a new greenfield beverage manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, which upon completion will be PepsiCos largest beverage plant in India, PepsiCo India said in a statement. The company also announced plans to substantially increase sourcing of mango pulp from Andhra Pradesh in the next six years The plant will manufacture a range of beverages, including fruit juice based drinks, carbonated soft drinks and sports drinks. "PepsiCo intends to invest more than Rs 1,200 crore in the project, which is part of the recently announced plans by PepsiCo and its partners to invest Rs 33,000 crore in India by 2020," it added.

The Project Which Was Started In 2003, Will Have A Cost Overrun Of About 20 Per Cent. The Approved Investment Of The Plant Was Rs 4,527 Crore. It Has Been Delayed Mainly Due To Environment And Geological Hurdles. The Project Was Earlier Slated For Commissioning In 2009. The Project Will Supply Electricity To Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir And Chandigarh. Koldam Has An Installed Capacity Of 800 MW Comprising Four Units Of 200 MW Each. Himachal Pradesh, The Home State Of The Hydel Plant Would Get 12 Per Cent Free Power As Royalty, 15 Per Cent At Bus Bar Tariff And 2.75 Per Cent As The Grid Distribution Share From The 800 MW Project. Bus Bar Tariff Is The Cost Per Kilowatt Hour Of Producing Electricity And Includes The Cost Of Capital, Debt Service, Operation And Maintenance, And Fuel. The Company Is Also Executing Three More Hydel Plants -- Tapovan Vishnugad (520 MW) And Lata Tapovan (171 MW) In Uttarakhand And And Singrauli Small Hydro Project (8 MW) In Uttar Pradesh.
