Glazing shall be paid as seperate item. Contractor shall provide guarantee for stability, water tightness etc for 12 months after defects liability period. Rate shall be inclusive of providing aluminium sections, cutting, fabrication, errection and fixing to the best workmanship manner, including 1) Sheet metal screws and casted solid aluminum corner cleats fixed with external byttins with a spring for rapid and secure joint assembly for casement and sliding shutter and frame; 2) Glazing clips for receiving infill panel; 3) Best quality wool pile where ever shutter touches the frame and compatible microwave cured EPDM rubber; 4) Dash Anchor fasteners of HILTI HRDUGT or equivalent for fixing the frame assembly to the RCC or masonry surfaces. | 38 | Providing, fabricating, supplying and fixing Mild Steel (MS) grill for windows, complete with all materials, labour, welding, cutting, grinding, painting and installation as per drawings and instructions.The grill shall be made using mild steel sections such as flats, round bars, square bars or hollow sections. The steel used shall conform to IS 2062 Grade A or IS 1079.The grill shall be fabricated exactly as per approved architectural drawings. All joints shall be fully welded and ground smooth. Suitable MS lugs or holding brackets of minimum 12 mm thickness and 25 mm width shall be provided for fixing into the wall or window frame. Fixing shall be done with grouted bolts, anchor fasteners, or holdfasts in PCC or non-shrink grout. Welding directly to aluminium frames shall not be permitted, and only bolted connections with washers shall be allowed when grills are fixed to aluminium windows.The design must allow smooth operation of window shutters and proper cleaning without obstruction.All steel surfaces shall be cleaned properly to remove rust, oil, dust and mill scale. After cleaning, one coat of zinc chromate red oxide primer conforming to IS 2074 shall be applied. Two coats of synthetic enamel paint of approved shade conforming to IS 2932 shall then be applied. The shutter shall consist of a rigid framework with stiles and rails of treated engineered wood, bonded with waterproof synthetic resin adhesive conforming to IS: 848. The infill core shall be solid composite block board as per IS: 1659. The toughened glass shall comply with IS 2553 (Part 1): Safety Glass for Architectural Use and IS 14900 (Safety Glass and Glazing System). Glass edges shall be machine-polished, smooth and free from sharpness. No chipped edges, waves, bubbles, or optical distortion shall be accepted.Glass shall be toughened at an approved factory with heat soak test wherever specified. Each piece used at site must bear the manufacturer’s permanent marking/stamp, ensuring identification of grade and make.The glass shall be installed using approved stainless-steel patch fittings, U-channel, glazing clips, EPDM rubber gaskets, aluminium channels, hinges, or spider fittings as applicable. All fixing accessories shall be non-corrosive, made of SS 304 grade minimum.
