Thereafter, inspection for cracks on the surface caused by themal expansion and contraction. Moistening the prepared surface for proper dispersion and penetration and applying two component cementitious elastomeric waterproofing coating Damp Block 2K manufatured by M/S Asian paint Ltd, Pidifin 2k (DR Fixit) or equivalent in two coats @ 1.4 kg/sqm to build 1mm thick as per manufacturer's specifications. The first coats shall be applied @ 0.7 kg/sqm and while first coat is still green the second coats shall be applied with suitable stiff brush @ 0.7 kg/sqm. The treatment shall be carried out to entire horizontal surface and upto 450mm vertical walls. Perform air cooling for approx 4 hrs followed by contineous water cooling at least 48 hrs.Ponding test: - After water proofing treatment has cured, perform a ponding test to verify its effectiveness. Block all outlets and fill the sunken area with water. the test should run for 48 hrs (or 7days as per IS 3370 PART- I). Necessary record of the test duly signed by Engr-in-charge shall be kept on record.Inspection :- Inspect the soffit for any sign of lekage of dampness, if leaks are detected, the area must be repaired and the test repeated.Protective screed:- Once the ponding test is sucessful drain out the water and apply a protective plaster of 20mm thick using CM 1:3 with water proofing compound to a required slope towards the spouts provided incl vertical surfaces. Back filling :- After protective screed has dried, back fill the remaining sunken depth with light weight, non absorbent material such as pumice stone pr broken bricks, avoid using water retaining material Final layer:- 50mm thick layer of PCC 1:2:4 type B1 shall be laid over light weight filling to provide the floor finish.
