| 84 | M&L for Green Mexican Grass Lawn: supply, stacking and development of Green Mexican Grass lawn by carrying out the following operations: (a) uprooting vegetation and weeds by digging the area to a depth of 60 cm in any type of soil, removing all weeds, breaking clods, rough dressing, flooding with water, uprooting fresh growth after 10 to 15 days and then fine dressing for planting new Mexican grass, including disposal of all rubbish with all leads and lifts. Approval of Engineer-in-Charge should be obtained towards spreading of garden soil before laying Mexican grass. (d) Providing and laying Mexican grass turf over developed surface of ground prepared with proper level and ramming with wooden tools (Dhumos) and then rolling the surface with light roller and making the surface smooth and lightly watering. A sample of one sqm of turf shall be submitted to the Engineer-in-Charge for approval of GE before the turf is brought into use on site. (e) During maintenance period, watering the lawn daily by providing required pipes and adjustable sprinklers. (f) Weekly weeding, cleaning and removing dry leaves from the lawn. (g) Protection against and control of insects, pests and diseases by spraying fungicides, etc. once in every month. (h) Weeding and mowing of lawn by using mechanical lawn mower with half-capacity collection bags regularly (not exceeding 15 days) to maintain the grass height not exceeding 50 mm from ground level so as not to allow grass to grow wild. Note: The contractor shall be responsible for replacing any grass which fails to survive as a result of inadequate maintenance operations, poor workmanship, poor quality or defective grass during the maintenance period at his own expense. |
