| 6 | Excavation, loading, unloading and carriage by mechanical means of all kinds of soil, including stoney earth, gravel and moorum etc interspread with boulders upto 1/2 cum size with all lifts and delifts including trimming of slopes and bed to design section and depositing the the excavated materials away from work site as per the specification and as directed by the Engineerin-in-charge within an initial lead of 1km from the place of excavation complete. |

| 8 | Excavation in approved type of soil free from all roots waste materials kankars in approved borrow area by manual labour or by mechanical means or by both loading in to and transportation by mechanical means and unloading the earth with all leads and lifts on properly prepared and scientifically approved surface including spreading and removing un-desirable materials and leveling the earth in 22.5 cm. layers to make ready for watering and compaction with sheep foot rollers and dozers but excluding cost of watering and compaction in dam and dyke for all height measured above the un-stripped average ground level including construction and maintenance of coffer dam as and where required and construction maintenance, watering and lighting of haul road and borrow area including jungle clearance and stripping of borrow area including trimming the extra partially compacted earth beyond the design section etc. complete as per the direction of the Engineer in charge. |
