Excavation in earth work in hilly area in all heights and depths in all kind of soil including saturated soil comprising of mixed soil, ordinary rock and hard rock all work of rock cutting by blasting shall be carried out by taking all necessary precautions against soil erosion, damage to hill side,water pollution, etcetra and to protect stability of hill side rock shall be excavated with chiseling and wedging out rock (where blasting is prohibited). All earth work in cutting/excavation including rock excavation shall be carried, out true to lines, grades, side slopes, width, camber super-elevation and level as shown on the drawings or as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge, in conformit with the requirement of technical specification for Rural Road. clause 1603.1 and 1603.2 of General conditions for contract to achieve designed formation width including hauling and safe disposal of unsuitable cut materials upto all lead and lifts in specified manner i/c arrangement of dumping site trimming, filling of unevenness, blindage and finishing of the road to specified dimensions or as directed by the Engineer -in -Charge for smooth riding. The recovery for stones,whether useful or not, for 265.33 cum (two hundred sixty five point thirty three) in all cases, @ rupees300/- only(Rupees three hundred only) per cubic meter shall be effected on pro- rata basis. Any loss to the public and private property during the course of excavation shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor, which shall compensated by him in all cases.
