| 15 | Providing GI plate earth including excavation of pit of size 2000x2000x3000mm depth in all kinds of soils and placing four numbers of G I plates of size 600x600x6 mm thick vertically at diagonally opposite ends in the excavated pit and inter connecting the plates with 4 Nos. of 50x3mm G I strips with 2 No.s of G I bolts and nuts of 10mm dia at each connection and covering the joints with bitumen, placing G I pipe of 50mm internal dia ( B Class) and 3000mm length at the center of the plate grid for watering and filling the pit with fine ash and / or finally sieved good quality soil including ramming in 20 cm layers etc. complete and cover the pit with 750x750x50mm thick precast reinforced cement concrete slab having 100mm dia hole at the centre to pass the GI pipe and construct a chamber having: |

| 17 | Providing G I strips of size 50x3 mm one end connected to the tower leg with G I bolts and nuts [with lead sheath in between] including providing and connecting the legs at the bottom of tower and the other end shall be connected to the G I plate earth/ring earth with G I bolts and nuts [with lead sheath in between] including clamping the down lead flat to walls/stems without any sharp bends using necessary clamps and screws as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. (All joints should be covered by Shalimar or equivalent water proof tape and made air tight) |
| 18 | Providing and fixing copper lightning conductor of 1500mm length, 25mm dia hollow tube of wall thickness not less than 1.6mm…including tinning the bottom portion of the spike for a length not less than 150 mm (lightning conductor to be fixed at the top of the tower) and connecting the GI bus bar to the lightning arrester using 2 Nos. 10 mm dia brass bolts and nuts all complete as directed by the Engineer-in-charge. (All joints should be covered by Shalimar or equivalent water proof tape and made air tight) |
| 19 | Providing GI bus bar of 50 x 3 mm connected to the tinned bottom portion of lightning conductor and to the ring earth/plate earth with 2 No.s of 10 mm dia GI nuts & bolts [with lead sheath in between] at each connection. The bus bar shall be clamped to the tower/ building walls at uniform interval of 1.00 mtr. using proper GI clamps and ceramic insulators such that the bus bar shall be well insulated from the tower building walls all complete as directed by the Engineer-in-charge.
