(iii) Cut a 1-inch deep groove above the roof surface on the parapet wall and seal the edge of the APP Superthermoly STP polyester sheet into the groove with polymer-modified mortar. (iv) In case of low-height parapets, terminate the APP Superthermoly STP polyester sheet over the parapet. (v) For overlapping joints, rub the polyethylene side of the membrane with a wire brush, apply Shali Bond APP over the rubbed area, allow it to become tacky, and fix the bituminous side of the APP Superthermoly STP polyester sheet using hot application. (vi) Ensure an overlap of 75mm for longitudinal joints and 100mm for transverse joints. The vital physical and chemical parameters of the membrane shall be as follows: softening point not less than 150°C; cold flexibility up to 0°C as per ASTM standards; joint strength at 23°C as 350 N/5cm in the longitudinal direction and 300 N/5cm in the transverse direction; tear strength of 60 N in the longitudinal direction and 80 N in the transverse direction. The roll weight for a 4mm thick sheet (1 meter x 10 meters) shall be 40 kg. The laying of the membrane must be carried out by a certified applicator (certificate to be attached).
