Tender For Retrofitting Works For Dfrp Building In Igcar, Kalpakkam.; 1 Providing and fixing double Tubular scaffolding system for painting works using H-Frames / APS system or (cup lock type) on the exterior side made with 40mm dia M.S. tube 1.5m centre to centre horizontal and vertical tubes joining with cup and lock system with M.S. tubes, M.S. tube challies, M.S clamps and M.S staircase system in the scaffolding for working platform etc. and maintaining it in a serviceable condition for the required duration as approved and removing it thereafter. The scaffolding system shall be stiffened with bracings, runners, connection with building etc. wherever required for inspection of work at required locations with essential safety features for the workmen etc. complete as per directions and as approved by the Engineer -in-Charge. Note : 1. The elevation area of the scaffolding shall be measured for payment purposes. 2. The payment shall be made once irrespective of duration of scaffolding. 3. The scaffolding system drawing shall be got approved by Engineer-in-Charge. 4. The contractor has to observe all safety procedure while working on heights as per I.S. 3696 (Part-I) (Safety Code for scaffolds). 5. Screen of suitable material shall be provided to the full height of scaffolding and securely tied to protect falling objects coming out during the work is in progress. 6. Necessary aluminium / M.S. ladder shall be provided at the cost of the contractor, to the full height of scaffolding at required location around the building to enable Departmental Supervisor/Engineer climb up and closely watch the repair work of the building. 2 Removing the existing worn out PVC flooring/carpet including scrapping the area, cleaning, stacking the removed materials at the storage yard with a lead above 1km upto 2 kilometre complete all as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. 3 Dismantling stone slab flooring laid in cement mortar at all levels including stacking material and disposal of unserviceable material within 50 metres lead complete all as per specifications and directed by the Engineer-in-charge. 4 Providing and fixing 12mm thick plywood in position including required screws, nails, cutting to the required size & shape complete etc. as directed by Engineer-in- Charge. 5 Surface Preparation of hardened concrete surfaces of beams top and bottom for bonding stainless steel (SS) plates by deep scabbling using Pneumatic/Electric scabbler with pointed chisels to achieve 5mm depth ensuring a minimum CSP of 8 as per ICRI 310.2R . Surface cleaning of all loose particle and debris removal by compressed air. Debris removal and disposal using showels. All these shall be in compliance with the Engineer-in-Charge’s instructions and project requirements. Quality control checks to verify adequacy of surface roughenss such as profile depth to achieve CSP 8 as directed by Engineer. 6 Providing onsite Brown Fused Aluminum Oxide (BFA) Grit Blasting compliant with ANSI B74.12-2018, contains 95.0% Al₂O₃, <1.0% impurities with a Mohs hardness of 9.0,for Stainless Steel Plates for Bonding with Concrete with blasting on one side of plate. Aluminum oxide grit, size 16 mesh specific gravity of 3.95–4.00 g/cm³, bulk density of 1.92–2.00 g/cm³, and angular, blocky particles (1000–1400 µm, ~1200 µm average) with sharp cutting edges; at 80–100 PSI, it produces a 3.0–4.0 mil (75–100 µm) profile on steel with a minimum Ra of 5.0 µm(Min) (Rmax 30–50 µm) using a 0.8 mm sampling length over a 40 mm traversing length (50 sampling lengths, per ISO 4287), achieved with a 90° blasting angle, 6–8 inch standoff distance with 5 recycle cycles. Surface Profile Check to Measure surface roughness at minimum 5 locations per plate using a surface profile gauge or replica tape (ASTM D4417, Method B or C). b)Blasting Equipment Type : Portable pressure blast system or suction blast system. Compressor Capacity: Minimum 50–150 CFM (1.4–2.8 m³/min) at 0.3–1.0 MPa (43–145 psi) to ensure consistent abrasive flow and velocity. Nozzle:Material: Tungsten carbide or ceramic for durability. Type: Venturi nozzle for high-velocity abrasive delivery or straight bore for precision using 1/4 7 Providing, fabricating and fixing hand rail or other required member using 304 grade Stainless Steel pipes, Square sections, plates etc. of approved size and make and quality by cutting to required size, welding, mirror / matt polishing , fixing at site etc. for balcony railing & staircases railing and other required members including special sections as per drawings, specifications complete. A sample to be fabricated and to be got approved by the Engineer-in-Charge before starting of work at site. This work to be executed through approved specialized agency. 8 Providing and applying Bonding Agent (Structural Adhesive) for Fixing SS Plate to Bond with Concrete using Two-part epoxy adhesive: A high-strength, structural adhesive consisting of: Part A: Resin (base) and Part B: Hardener (curing agent). Mixing ratio Part A : Part B = 3:1 (by weight) • Mixing tools: Clean, dry mixing container (plastic or metal), spiral-type mixing paddle and a low- rpm (max 600 rpm) electric drill (for larger quantities). • Measuring tools: Graduated cups or a digital scale for accurate proportioning. • Application tools: Notched trowel, spatula, or spreader for applying adhesive. • Cleaning supplies: Acetone or alcohol wipes for cleaning tools and surfaces. • Personal protective equipment (PPE): Gloves, safety glasses, and a respirator (if mixing in a poorly ventilated area). Note: Read and Refer Technical Specification for 1.Mixing Instructions 2.Application Instruction for Steel Bonded Plate 3.Quality Control Inspection b) Material specification : Epoxy resin shall confirm to the specification as shown in Table AP1The material shall be approved by engineer after the testing for compressive and tensile strength. c) Curing and Painting : To protect the adhesive against moisture ingress, the edges of the plate should be sealed with resin putty or mortar after the adhesive has cured. A suitable chamfer/fillet could also be formed in the adhesive around the edge of the plates and the concrete surfaces. Steel plates and all associated components shall be adequately painted for corrosion protection. 9 Providing and Fixing Post installed Undercut Anchors of stainless steel version meeting all the technical specifications as per relevant codes ETA 21/0787 & Approved from AERB and standards suitable including drilling in concrete as per requirement for fixing SS Plates on structures all as specified by the manufacturer. The work includes drilling holes in concrete as per manufacturer’s specifications, using stainless steel or high corrosion-resistant (HCR) M12 anchors to prevent galvanic corrosion, and ensuring proper embedment depth, edge distances, and torque application. Installation shall comply with Manufacturers technical guidelines and project drawings, complete with all necessary accessories (nuts, washers) and verification of correct installation via the anchor’s red cap indicator, all as specified in the specifications and structural drawing. Embedment depth 125mm, Maximum fixture thickness at standard embedment depth is 50mm 10 Supply, install, and fix post installed studded expansion anchor (Stainless steel version) of below mentioned anchor size, torque-controlled expansion studded anchors, conforming to relevant codes ETA 99/0009 & Approved from AERB suitable for securing stainless steel (SS) plates to concrete structures. The work includes drilling holes in concrete as per manufacturer’s specifications, using stainless steel or high corrosion-resistant (HCR) anchors to prevent galvanic corrosion, and ensuring proper embedment depth, edge distances, and torque application. Installation shall comply with Manufacturers technical guidelines and project drawings, complete with all necessary accessories (nuts, washers) and verification of correct installation via the anchor’s red cap indicator, all as specified in the specifications and structural drawing. 11 Anchor size M10, Embedment depth 100mm 12 Anchor size M8, Embedment depth 50mm 13 Providing and laying 25mm thick Indian patent stone flooring and skirting with cement concrete 1:2:4 using 10mm and below size hard broken granite stone jelly and crushed stone sand and including dividing strips, laying in panels, consolidating, curing, rubbing the surface smooth, cleaning the surface neatly at the time of handing over the area complete all as per specifications and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. 14 Providing and Fixing Homogeneous PVC sheet, 2mm thick, conforming to IS:3462 latest edition in flooring and skirting (Polyfloor or approved equivalent make) in approved pattern, colour & shade on a smooth and damp proof base using rubber based adhesive of approved quality and manufacturer like Dunlop-S -758, or Fevicol SR 998, or approved equivalent including cleaning & preparation of surface, levelling small undulations with plaster of paris if required, rolling with light wooden roller weighing about 5 kg all complete all as per specification and as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge Note: The sample tile shall be got approved by the Architect/Engineer before procurement. 15 Providing and Painting with Epoxy paint (two or more coats) using APCODUR-CF-641 finishing coat at all locations and levels, prepared and applied as per manufacturers specifications including a priming coat if specified by the manufacturer, preparation of surface and etching with 10% commercial Hydrochloric acid wherever necessary and neutralizing the acid etched areas by washing with 5% solution of soda ash neatly and washing with sufficient water, after first coat Epoxy based trowelling compound if required, including preparation of the surface by scrapping, applying sand paper, filling the holes, joints, cracks if any, etc. complete all as per manufacturers Technical Data and as directed at site to achieve 150micron Dry film thickness (50 Micron Primer coat and 100micron finishing Coat). (Contractor has to provide Elcometer sampling sheets etc. at his cost for testing film thickness) 16 Carrying out miscellaneous works like checking of concrete surface profile after scabbling / to take replica measurement at beam bottom / sand filling at beam top , cleaning and wiping with acetone after sand filling / scanning of rebar to instal anchors as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge. Note: Contractor has to engage a minimum of 1 unskilled labour as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge for each job. 17 Overall rebate (Optional) 18 INR Zero Only
