CONSERVATION, REPAIR AND RESTORATION TO ROHIDA FORT” AT VILLAGE - BAJARWADI, TAL: BHOR, DISTT. -PUNE (PART 1).- 1 Removal of plants/ ficus growth by pulling out root system embedded in masnory, cutting stem and application of hing/gur/lime formulation as specified by the Architect or other patented chemical biocide treatment such as biocide Glycel (isoproplamine salt of glyphosate) or other chemical as specified by the Engineer in charge etc. complete 2 Labour charges for removing grass, thorney shrubs, Jungli shrub, Kubabul and alikegrass along roadside making the ground clean by showel and phavaras etc. complete. 3 Gently cleaning the surface of stone masonry and piers with specialized water misting techniques employing air waterjet usinga fine nozzle sprinkling system calibrated to spray fine mist along the stone surface without over wetting followed up by gentle brushing with soft nylon brushes and removing dirt,dust,birddropping,grease, oil, algae, fungus, monkey beats, vegetable growth etc.as specified. Gentlesurface cleaning mayincludeusingwatermisting andmildpH balancedsurfactantsas specified for indicated areas to remove the surfce dirt, grit accretions by means of water misting andcleaning etc.complete as directed by the Engineer inCharge.(The rate is inclusive of allmaterials&labours involved except scaffolding). 4 Dismantling stone masonary in lime or cement mortar including stacking the materials as directed with all lead, lifts, etc.. 5 Loweringdowncarefullyexistingstonemasonryofthemonumentmanuallyinproperorder including shifting the stone elements up to a distance of 50 meter beyond the monument area and stackingthemasdirectedby Engineerin-charge,removingbuilding rubbishandcleaning thesiteetc. complete. 6 Removing doors and windows with frames and stacking the materials as directed with all leads, lifts etc. complete. 7 Dismantling brick masonry in lime or cement mortar and stacking the materials as directed with all leads, lifts etc. 8 Removing cement tiles or marble or polished shahabad floor or dado without bed concrete including stacking the materials as directed with all lead, lifts, etc. complete. 9 Raking out joints in lime or cement mortar and preparing the surface for re-pointing or replastering including disposal of rubbish to the dumping ground within 50 metres lead. 10 Dismantling the R.C.C. Work 1:2:4 and sorting out the materials such as steel etc. as directed and stacking them within the specified lead as directed etc. complete. 11 Scientific Excavation - Clearance of debris around the heritage building by excavation upto depth 1.50 m to 2.0 m carefully without damaging the buried arcgitectural parts of the building and collect all the intact parts at proper place for reuse at the time of restoration work as per direction of Engineer incharge. All kinds o soil 12 Excavation for foundation in earth, soil of all types, sand, gravel and soft murum,including removing the excavated material up to a distance of 50m. beyond the building area and stacking and spreading as directed, dewatering, preparing the bed for the foundation and necessary backfilling, ramming, watering including shoring and strutting etc. complete. (Lift upto 0.00 to 1.50 m.) By Manual Means 13 Providing dry/ trap/ granite/ quartzite/ gneiss rubble stone soling 15 cm to 20 cm thick including hand packing and compacting etc. complete. 14 Providing and laying in situ (1: 2: 4) lime concrete with trap/ granite/ quartzite/ gneiss stone aggregate for foundations and plinth/ bedding/ underpaving including de-watering and curing, complete excluding centering and shuttering. 15 Filling in plinth and floors with Contractorsmaterial / brought from outside and approved by Engineer - in - charge in layer of15 cm to 20 cm including watering and compacton etc. complete. 16 Providing and fixing double scaffolding system (cup lock type) on the exterior side of building/ structure, including additional rows of scaffolding in stepped manner as per requirement of site, made with 40 mm dia M.S. tube, placed 1.5 metre centre to centre, horizontal & vertical tubes joint with cup & lock system with M.S. Tubes, M.S. tube challis, M.S. clamps and staircase system in the scaffolding for working platform etc. and maintaining it in a serviceable condition for execution of work of cleaning and/or pointing and/ or applying chemical and removing it thereafter. The scaffolding system shall be stiffened with bracings, runners, connecting with the building etc, wherever required, if feasible, for inspection of work at required locations with essential safety features for the workmen etc., complete as per directions and approval of Engineer-in-charge. Note:-(1) The elevational area of the scaffolding shall be measured for payment purpose.(2) The payment will be made once only for execution of all items for such works. 17 Providing Un-coursed Rubble Masonry of trap / granite stones in lime mortar 1:1½, in foundation and plinth as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including the stones to be set in the work as received from the quarry, after merely knocking offweak corners and edges with the masons hammer,the stones shall be carefully laid so as to break joints, no joint shall exceed 12.5 mm. (½″) in thickness, every stone shall be set flush in mortar, the face stone shall be for greater size, and good beds, one through stone shall be inserted at least every 0.80 sq. mete (1 square yard), the joints shall be racked out carefully at least 25 mm. (1″) where pointing or plastering tobe done, striking joints where no pointing or plastering is to be done, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, bailing out water, watering and all exposed masonry work when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete. 18 Providing Ashlar Rough - tooled Masonry of trap / granite stones in lime mortar 1:1 ½ with size of stone (0.45 x 0.30 x 0.23 meter) in super structure as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including the stones be of approved quality , colour , hard and free from defect of any kind , the face of stones shall be rough - tooled , rustic (with or without chisel draft, except at quoins), or chamfered as specified, the bed sand joints of all ashlar stones to be dressed perfectly true, square and full , headers shall not be less in length than breadth of ashlar stone plus 45cm. (1ꞌ6″) , the stones shall be set in mortar , the beds or joints being in no case more than 3mm. (⅛″) , the stone shall be laid in regular course not less than 30cm. (12″) in height averaging 4½c.ft. ,the face stone shall be laid header and stretcher alternately, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, scaffolding, watering and all masonry work when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete. 19 REUSE &RESET- Re-setting Ashlar Fine Masonry of reuse-stones in lime mortar 1:1 in superstructure asperdetailedspecificationsanddrawings oras directed including the stonesshallbesetin fine mortar, the beds or joints being in no case more than 3 mm. (⅛″), the stone shall be laid in regular course, the face stone shall be laid header and stretcher alternately, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, scaffolding, wateringandall masonry work when handed over to be perfectly clean and freefrom all mortar stains etc. complete. 20 Providing and fixing Stone Paving, Second Sort in lime mortar 1:1.50, with size of stone 0.45. cm. x 0.3 cm. x 0.15cm., as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including all stone slabs to of approved quality, hard, even, sound, durable and uniform thickness, the stones to be very finely chisel-dressed on the surface and the course to be of prescribed width, the joints running true, the stonestobelaidwithjointsnotexceeding 6mm.(¼″)thick andtobe evenlyandfirmly bedded flush in mortar on the concrete and no hollow left, side to be dressed true and as per shape at least half the depth from the face, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, watering and all pavingwork when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete. 21 Providing and fixing Stone Flooring , First Sort -in lime mortar 1:1, with size of stone, ( 0.60 x 0.45 x 0.15 ) mt. as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including all stone slabs to of approved quality, hard, even, sound, durable and uniform thickness, the stones to be very finely chisel-dressed on the surface and the course to be of prescribed width, the joints running true, the stonestobelaidwithjointsnotexceeding 6mm.(¼″)thick andtobe evenlyandfirmly bedded flush in mortar on the concrete and no hollow left, side to be dressed true and as per shape at least half the depth from the face, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, watering and all pavingwork when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete. 22 Providing Ashlar Steps / Kerbs of trap / granite stones in lime mortar 1:1.50 with size of stone (0.60 x 0.40 x 0.25) mtr.asperdetailedspecificationsanddrawingsorasdirectedincludingthe stones be of approved quality, colour, hard and free from defect of any kind, the stones shall be of exact size and shape, the shall be fine dressed on exposed surface, holes for balusters should be cut in the steps before they are laid, each stone shall rest at least 3.8 cm. (1½″) on that below it, the beds or joints being in no case more than 3 mm. (⅛″), preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, watering andallstepsworkwhenhandedovertobeperfectlycleanandfreefromallmortarstainsetc.complete. 23 Providing injection grouting with a slurry of lime and fine screened sand in proportion 1 : 1 with a proper pressurized jet pump, including cleaning, washing and packing the exisitng cracks or holes in the brick or stone masonry properly upwards with the slurry, scaffolding, curing etc. complete 24 ProvidingLimePointingtostoneworkinlimemortar1:1insuperstructure,asperdetailed specifications and drawings or as directed including all face or visible work shall be pointed, unless otherwise specified and shall be done while the mortar is fresh, the mortar shall consists of lime and fine sand shall not be ground fine but sand should be finer, the joints of the pointed work shall be neatly defined by the pointing, the lines shall be regular and uniform in breadth and the joints shall beraisedorflatasmaydirected,preparingthelimemortarwith640grampulpofwoodapple (Belfruit) per cubic metre of lime mortar as a bonding material, scaffolding, watering and allwork when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc. complete 25 Providing Semi-circular Coping Cut-stone First Sort, 22.5 cm. (9″) height and 52.5 cm. (1ꞌ9″) wide of trap / granite / Basalt stones in lime mortar 1:1 with size of stone 0.6 m. x 0.6 m. x 0.2 m. as per detailed specifications and drawings or as directed including the stones be of approved quality, colour, hard and free from defect of any kind, the stone shall be dressed full or to template, exposed face of the stones shall be fine chisel dressed, semi-circular and all joints shall be in line and close and not more than 3 mm. (⅛″) thick, preparing the lime mortar in lime miller, scaffolding, watering and all coping work when handed over to be perfectly clean and free from all mortar stains etc.complete. 26 Providing and fixing in position Guard Railing as per Drg. No.15 Type Cdt.20-4-79, with 3 rows of 40 mm dia. G. I. pipe 30 cm apart and fixed in M. S. channels of section 100 x 50 x 6 mm spaced 2.5 C/c 1: 2: 4 c.c. bedding of size 45 x 30 x 30 cm. as per detailed drawing, with 3 coats of approved of yellow and black paint including necessary excavation in any strata. 27 Providing and fixing informatory sign boards in rectangular shape of size 1.20m x 0.90m made out of 16 guage Aluminum panel bonded with IRC Specified colour of retro reflective sheeting of Type IV High Intensity Micro-Prismatic Grade Sheeting (HIP) having pressure sensitive/heat activated adhesive, IRC Specified colour retro reflective cut out border & messages having pressure sensitive adhesive having border & messages in IRC Specified colour back ground including M.S. angle iron frame of size 35mm X 35 mm X 3 mm & two M.S. angle iron post of size 65mm X 65mm X 6mm, 3.65m long, duly painted with flat oil paint having alternate black and white bands of 25cm width including G.I. fixtures etc; fixing the boards in M-20 concrete block of size 60cm X 60cm X 75cm including transportation etc; complete. Aluminum Panel Type IV High Intensity. 28 Providing and fixing solid wooden door of thickness 0.15 m for 1.01 Main Templeand Gates including fixing Big and small motifs, defensive bolts, pivot and pointed nails including providing steel roller and track for movement of wooden shutter etc. complete as directed by Engineer in charge 29 Providing and applying melamine polish of required finish to the wood work by spray machine including knotting and preparing the even surface by scraping, applying French polish, scaffolding if required etc. complete. 30 Documentation (still photography & Video Documentry)of the conservation process (before, after & every Twice per month during process) till project completion 31 Preparation of 3 - 4 min documentary film on “ROHIDA FORT ” of which will include Script Development, Shooting, Voiceover, Post Production wherever required as per the script
