Multi-pair cables with copper conductor,PE insulated, individual and overall screened, PE bedding, steel wire armoured and PVC sheathed, voltage rated at 500V. (1) Conductor: shall be plain annealed circular, stranded copper conductor confirm to IEC 60228 or BS 6360 class 2. (2) Insulation: Polyethelene (3) Pairing: Two insulated core shall be uniformly twisted together to form a pair. (4) Pair Identification: Color code or Numbering. (5) Individual screening: Each pair screened with aluminium/mylar tape, helically applied with the metallic side down. (6) Twisted pairs are laid up together. Each core shall be of 1.5 Sq.mm, made of multi stranded annealed electrolytic copper conductor.Each Strand shall be 0.53 mm dia. The insulation of individual conductor shall be extruded PVC (Type C) as per IS 5831. The outer and inner sheath of cables shall be extruded PVC type ST2 (90 Deg C) as per IS 5831 and shall be of flame retardant low smoke (FRLS) type. Armour Over inner sheath shall be of galvanized steel wire and it shall be as per IS 1554 (Part-1). Pairs of cables shall be identified by color coding <(>&<)> color banding. The Cores of a individual pair shall be twisted with minimum 10 twist per meter. Cables shall be provided with individual pair shielding and overall shielding. Shielding shall be of Aluminium-Mylar tape with 100% coverage and with at least 20% overlapping. Separate drain wires for individual pair shield as well as overall shield shall be provided. Drain wire shall be of multi stranded tinned annealed copper conductor. Each Strand shall be 0.53 mm dia. Maximum DC resistance of the conductor of the finished cable shall not exceed 12.3 ohms/ km at 20 degC. The Drain wire resistance including shield shall not exceed 30 Ohms/Km Electrostatic noise rejection ration of the finished cable shall be over 76 dB Progressive sequential marking of the length of the cable at every one meter shall be provided on the outer sheath. The cables shall be provided in non-returnable FRP / Light weight steel drums. The drum length shall be 1000 m (+/- 5%).
