| 17 | Supply, installation, commissioning and testing of maintenance free chemical copper bonded steel earth rod of 3 meter length and 14.2mm diameter. Auger ahole of 3 inch diameter and 3 mtr depth in the soil, placing the earth rods in to the augured hole, hammering the rods to 1 feet depth, removing excavated material, filling with Ground Enhancement Material (GEM) of not less than 22 Kgs, conforming to IEC 62561-7 Standard,premixing the GEM into slurry form using water(not more than 10 Ltrs), pouring the GEM mixture in the augured hole and filling, including of PVC heavy duty earth chamber of size 250mm dia , 260mm height with round cover and minimum 5 ton load bearing capacity, marking of earth resistance value on it by painting, complete all as specified and as directed. |
| 18 | (A) Properties of copper bounded steel earth rod:- (aa) The outer surface must be molecularly bonded with uniform layer of 250 micron Copper, 99.9% pure electrolytic coating. (ab) Nickel interface must be provided between the copper and steel to avoid the galvanic corrosion. (ac) Must be capable of withstanding fusing current of 20 KA @ 1 Sec. (ad) Earth rod must be in compliance with IEC 62305- 2, NBC 2010 and IEEE 80. Rod should be tested as per IEC-62561-2 standard. (ae) Tensile strength greater than 80000 PSI on 12 mm. (af) High resistance to corrosion. (ag) Rod shall be tested as per IEC 62561- 2 standard in compliance with IEC 62305 standard. |
| 19 | (B) Properties of GEM: - (Ground Enhancement Matrills) (ba) Must be carbon based superior conductive material. (bb) Resistivity must be less than 2 Ω-cm. (bc) Must not cause corrosion to copper when in contact. (bd) Must not expand or experience any shrinkage once set. (be) Must not depend on the continuous presence of water/ moisture/ salt to maintain its conductivity. (bf) Must not decompose or leach out with time. (bg) Must not contain hazardous chemicals as per IEC 62561-7 standard. (bh) Flexural and possess compressive strength as per relevant standard. (bj) Sulphur content must be less than 2%. (bk) material shall be in line with IEEE 80 clause 14.5.d. (bl) Corrosion test shall be conducted on the material under both aggressive and non-aggressive conditions. |
| 20 | (C) Properties of terminal connection:- Stainless steel terminal connections to equipment body connection from maintenance free earth pit by mechanical connection using nuts, bolts and all other accessories complete all as specified and as directed.(D) Properties Cadweld Materials:- Cadweld materials for connections between ground rod with CBSC conductor by exothermic reaction connections to be made with a semi-permanentgraphite mould, which shall hold the conductors to be welded. Weld metal must be a mixture of copper oxide and aluminium, should be compliant with IEEE 80 standards and tested as per IEEE 837 -2014 standard.(E) Properties of common bus bar:- Size of 250mm x 50mm x 3mm bus bar for earth connection with suitable baseclamps & insulators, providing \"DD\" universal pattern for 8 Nos of holes for connections. |
| 21 | IMPROTANT NOTES :- (i)Any items missed out in the technical specification, but technically required for efficient working of the system is deemed to be included in the unit quote rates. (ii) The contractor/ Firm is required to visit the site prior to quoting of the subject items/ work so as to ascertain the actual ground requirements.Any further query at a later date shall not be entertained & responsibility of the same shall rest on the contractor/ firm. (iii) The cost of making good the disturbed surfaces (Substation yard stones and gravel, walls, pavement etc.) is deemed to be included in the unit quoted rate of relevant items. (iv) On testing if the desired earth resistance is not found more than 01 Ohms earthing is to be redone to the entire satisfaction of Engr-in-Charge at no extra cost to the Dept. After completion of work contractor should submit a detailed report of earth resistance test result. (v) If any damage to any electrical/ communication cables or any pipe lines or any other installations occurs during execution of the work then the same shall be made good by the contractor to the entire satisfaction of the concerned & the cost of the same is deemed to be included in the unit quoted rates. |
| 22 | Supply, laying, installing and commissioning copper bonded steel round conductor of size 10mm, minimum copper bonding shall be 250 microns having continuous coin form, the conductor core consists of a low carbon steel grade for improved flexibility. The copper surface of the conductor should provide high conductivity and corrosion resistance properties, should not crack or tear when conductor is bend well‐suited as a earth lead conductor or equipotential bonding conductor in accordance with the IEC 62305- which shall betted as per IEC 62561 - 2:2012 standard,for laying of conductor in ground/ on wall including connected holder/ clamp including made up of 304 grade SS with SS bolt and nut at every 1 mtr distance of round Rod. The clamp should be suitable copper bonded steel round conductor size of 10-mm complete all as specified and as directed.Note:- Necessary earth work etc. shall be measured & paid separately under relevant items of works. |
