Name of Work: CERTAIN REPAIR AND RECARPETING OF EXISTING DAMAGE ROADS IN OTM ACCN UNDER AOR OF AGE B/R-II AND AGE B/R-I AT ITARANA CANTT ALWAR UNDER GE ALWAR

1Repair to potholes any depth, not exceeding 1 sqm each including sweeping free from dust and mud, or water, scoring sunken surfaces in roads, paths, etc., cutting around edges to at least 25 mm in depth, making good by filling in screened & graded road metal, watering and well ramming (including supply of road metal), rolled and compacted with power roller 8 to 10 tonnes to required gradient and camber complete all as specified and as directed.
2Preparing existing black top surfaces by brushing with wire brushes for removing caked mud etc., sweeping with brooms and finally fanning the cleaned surface with gunny bags to remove all loose dirt etc. complete all as specified and as directed.
3M & L for applying tack coat on existing bituminous, cement concrete or primed granular surface to ensure a bond between the surface being paved and the overlaying course with cationic bitumen emulsion RS-1 grade at the rate of 5 kg per 10 sqm of surface complete all as specified and as directed.
4M & L for semi dense bituminous concrete 30 mm (compacted thickness) using graded crushed stone aggregate premixed with binder (paving grade bitumen VG-30 grade) @ 5% by weight of total mix & hydraulic lime filler, rolled and compacted to required camber and gradient complete all as specified and as directed. Note :- (i) Semi dense bituminous concrete shall be laid using self propelled hydrostatic paver finisher and preparation of mix shall be using hot mix plant and transporting the mix in tipper. (ii) The exact bitumen content required shall be determined following the Marshall Mix Design procedure contained in the Asphalt Institute Manual MS-2 (Sixth Edition) as referred in case 3.5.3 of IRC 111: 2009. The adjustment in rate due to variation in quantity of bitumen if any shall be priced at the rate of ?44 per kg.
5M & L for dense bituminous macadam 50 mm to 75 mm (compacted thickness) using graded crushed stone aggregate premixed with binder (paving grade bitumen VG-30 grade) @ 4.5% by weight of total mix & hydraulic lime filler, rolled and compacted to required camber and gradient complete all as specified and as directed. Note :- (i) Dense Bituminous macadam shall be laid using self propelled hydrostatic paver finisher and preparation of mix shall be using hot mix plant and transporting the mix in tipper. (ii) The exact bitumen content required shall be determined following the Marshall Mix Design procedure contained in the Asphalt Institute Manual MS-2 (Sixth Edition) as referred in case 3.5.3 of IRC 111: 2009. The adjustment in rate due to variation in quantity of bitumen if any shall be priced at the rate of ?44 per kg.
6Providing and applying 2.5 mm thick road marking strips (retro-reflective) of specified shade/ colour using hot thermoplastic material by fully/ semi-automatic thermoplastic paint applicator machine fitted with profile shoe, glass beads dispenser, propane tank heater and profile shoe heater, driven by experienced operator on road surface including cost of material, labour, T & P, cleaning the road surface of all dirt, seals, oil, grease and foreign material etc. complete all as specified and as directed.
7S & F in repairs solar road studs of size not less than 125 mm X 125 mm X 25 mm made of weather resistance aluminium alloy and poly carbonate material electronically welded micro- prismatic lens with abrasion resistant coating as approved by the Engineer in charge. The cats eye shall support a load of 13635 kg tested in accordance with ASTM D4280. The slope of retro- reflective surface shall be 35° ± 5° to base. The reflective panels on both sides with at least 12 cm of reflective area up each side. The luminance intensity should be as per the specification and shall be tested as described in ASTM E: 809 as recommended in BS: 873 part 4 : 1973. The studs shall be fixed to the Road surface using the adhesive conforming to IS, as per procedure recommended by the manufacturer complete and as per direction of Engineer-in-charge. The solar panel shall be high efficiency mono crystalline 2.5 V/60 m A and the battery shall be one Ni-mh type (1.2 V/1200 m Ah) high temp for backup of 36 hours full charging. The flash frequency shall be 60 ± 5 times per minute.
8Supply and fix in repairs Glow studs (cat"s eye) of size 80 to 100 mm X 80 to 100 mm X 15 to 20 mm made of heavy duty body shall be moulded ASA (Acrylic styrene Acryloretrite) or HIP (High impact polystyrene) or ABS having electronically welded micro- prismatic lens with abrasion resistant coating as approved by Engineer in charge. The cat’s eye shall support a load of 13635 kg tested in accordance with ASTM D4280. The slope of retro- reflective surface shall be 35° ± 5° to base. The reflective panels on both sides with at least 12 cm of reflective area up each side. The luminance intensity should be as per the specification and shall be tested as described in ASTM I: 809 as recommended in BS: 873 Part 4: 1973. The studs shall be fixed to the Road surface using the adhesive conforming to IS, as per procedure recommended by the manufacturer complete and as per direction of Engineer-in-charge.
9S & F in repairs solar delineators (road way indicators) of dimension (100 mm ± 15 mm) X 150 mm (minimum), made of poly carbonate at top and cast aluminium at bottom , UV resistant, LED flashing in red, blue, yellow, white, and green colours with 4 Nos LED, flash frequency 74 ± 5 times per minute, warning distance greater than 200 metre, enclosed in cage made of galvanised iron steel wire of size 2.80 mm including mono crystalline / polycrystalline : 4 Volts / 50mAh solar panel, including 1 x 1.2 Volts, Ni mh – 800 mAh of battery for backup of 36 hours full charging including mounting on 1100 mm length mild steel tube of nominal bore 50 mm painted with anticorrosive paint including embedding 200 mm below ground level in PCC M15(Nominal Mix) with using 20 mm graded stone aggregate in foundation of size 250 mm X 250 mm X 250 mm, necessary excavation and making good surface complete all as specified and as directed.
10Preparation of old concrete surfaces of any description exceeding 10 cm width or girth and applying one coat of synthetic enamel paint complete all as specified and as directed.
11Surface excavation not exceeding 30 cm deep and averaging 15 cm deep and getting out in soft/ loose soil complete all as specified and as directed.
12M & L for moorum/red bajri filling in floors or pavings, laid in layers not exceeding 15 cm thick, spread, levelled and rammed including watering complete all as specified and as directed.
13Removing excavated material (soils) not exceeding 50 m and depositing where directed at a level n exc. 1.5 m above the starting point
14Scarifying or picking gravelled, macadam or bituminous macadam surfaces in area exceeding 400 sqm, depth of pot hole exceeding 50 mm but not exceeding 100 mm including rolling over the broken surfaces using 8 to 10 tonnes power roller to required camber and gradient complete all as specified and as directed.
15M & L for applying tack coat on existing bituminous, cement concrete or primed granular surface to ensure a bond between the surface being paved and the overlaying course with cationic bitumen emulsion RS-1 grade at the rate of 3 kg per 10 sqm of surface complete all as specified and as directed.
16S & F in repairs road convex mirrors outdoor type made of one piece polycarbonate of size 1000 mm including steel tube of nominal bore 80 mm and thickness of 4.0 mm as per IS 1161: 2012 and 1.5 metre length for mounting of mirror including painting on steel tube with synthetic enamel paint on red oxide zinc chrome primer in approved shade including embedding 300 mm below ground level including excavation and PCC M15(Nominal Mix) with using 20 mm graded stone aggregate in foundation of size 400 mm X 400 mm X 400 mm and making good surface complete all as specified and as directed.
17Preparation of newly or previously untreated plaster surface of any description exceeding 10 cm width or girth and applying two coats of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of primer of the same manufacturer complete all as specified and as directed.
