Lead wool shall conform to IS 782-1978(amended up to date) The chemical component of lead wool shall conform to grade pb-99.94 of IS 27-1965(amended up to date). Lead wool shall not contain any sulpher. It shall not be manufactured from discarded accumulator battery plate. Lead wool shall consist of fine strands or plained ribbon of lead. The cross section of individual strand shall be flat. The dimensions in the sectional plane shall not be less than 0.13 mm and not more than 0.90mm. Lead wool to be supplied shall be free from dust.
