1	EARTHWORK EXCAVATION
2	GENERAL NOTES FOR EXCAVATIONContractorshalltakeallrequiredpermissions fromthe appropriate authorities for Excavation, Blasting, Carting away materials including depositing, levelling etc. and shall bear all the expenses for the same.
3	Rate includes removal of all kind of vegetation, small shrubs etc. Dewatering water to be let out of the building / site area through proper pipes & channels if required. The contractor at his own expenses shall water very well, ram and thoroughlyconsolidate thebottomofallexcavations & groundbeforetheconstructionoffoundation/footing/plinth beam,fillinginbasementfloororotherworkis commenced. The rate for excavation shall include for shoring sides or trenches with approved timber/steel accessories wherever necessary toprevent sides from falling including bailing or pumping out of water if necessary and include If there are any shrubs, bushes, trees, roots of the trees to be removed for min depth 5’0”. Necessary Lift & lead for all type of excavated materials to convey them and to deposit them as directed by the engineer-in-charge are to be considered. Contour level to be taken jointly with the engineer-in-charge andpriorwrittenapprovaltobetakenbeforestartingany excavation/fillingatevery3/5mtgridsoratregular in travels as directed by the engineer -in-charge for arriving at the actual quantity. Measurements for filling will be taken for consolidated thickness only. Cost toinclude alland necessary royalty and other permission charges required to executetheworks. Unlessnotedotherwisemeasurements shall be considered to the edge of PCC only.
4	General Excavation by mechanical means in all types of soil includingdensesoil,disIntegrated/weathered/softrock foranytypeof foundationincludingnecessarymanual excavation for dressing the edges & levelling, all leads and liftsbackfillinginlayersof150mmwithwateringand compaction to the required proctor density . Rate to include disposingtheexcessearthandspreadinginlayerstothe requiredlevelswithinthe site wherever specified, dewatering ofbothgroundandsurfacewater, removalofslurrygeneratedwhileexcavationandkeeping theareafreeofwaterwithnecessaryshoring,strutting, required for keeping earth in position etc,. excavating loose pocketsandcompactingthesame.Note:Aut working space andProvision ofslopes ifrequiredfor execution shall not be paid separately. 5	Cartingawaysurplusearth/excavatedmaterial /debrisand like materials outside the site and disposing off the same to thedesignated areasasidentifiedbythelocal authorities/engineer-in-charge for dumping of such material, including spreading, compacting etc.,as per the norms by the local authorities etc complete as directed in all respects.
6	Supplyandfillinginfoundationsandtheareawherever specifiedwithapprovedgoodqualityfillingmaterialsin plinths,sidesofretainingwallalroundthebuilding(i.e backfilling) areadevelopmentetc.whereverspecified in layersofnotexceeding150mmthickincludingbreaking clods,storing,transportation,doublehandling,watering, compactingeachlayerwithvibratorycompactorandat inaccessible places with wooden/steel rammers to achieve 90 to 95% proctor density at optimum moisture content, all leads and lifts, bailing/ pumping out of water to keep site dry while backfilling; cost shall include conveyance of all materials, labour, machinery etc. complete as directed.
