| 1 | M&L for racking out of old existing joint sealant compound (any type and any sealant compound) and back up rod of the existing joints by special tools like cutting blades/machines, widening of joints by 2mm by using joint cutting blades of appropriate size, straight and smooth edges, joint cleaned thoroughly with application of compressed air, joint shall be made dry, vacuum cleaned and free of dirt, oil, vegetation and other debris.Applying two coats of primer with thin brush by forward and backward movement at an interval of 30 minutes before placing the filler board, backup rod and pouring the sealant, thereafter filled with pre-molded 25mm thick compressible polyethylene closed cell type filler board, medium density, cross linked polyethylene foam backup rod of suitable size for complete length of the joint for the joint width 11mm to 15mm. Finally filled with polyurethane joint sealant meeting the requirements mentioned in BS-5212, BS-4254 and EN-141875-2003 with minimum movement accommodation factor MAF of + 30%complete all as specifed and as directed. Note:- i) Tenderer attention is invited to the depth of pavement joint required to be cut, in case of extra cutting tenderer needs to make good with suitable filler as directed at his own cost. (ii) Filling of joints to be done 2 to 3 mm recessed during summer and in winter it should be filled upto top up. (iii) Fly wheel, spatula , trangular pallet Knife etc to be used to maintain the recess and to give aesthetics. |
