3 3 Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of Advanced Lightning Arrestor system consisting of Early Streamer Technology(ESE) which collects energy through streamer which subsequently emits upwards streamer on being triggered by lightning (minimum 3.5kV and 20 Amps) and fully autonomous with no battery or external power supply consisting of stainless steel air terminal, elevation shaft / mast for raising air terminal, down conductor to establish continuity between the tip of terminal till the earth pits, connected in between to lightning counter the details of individual components of the system are given below.

21 3.18 Note for BOQ Nos. 3.02 to 3.17:-
22 3.19 (i) The elevation arrangement shall be measured and paid separately.
23 3.2 (ii) Any incidental fixtures / fittings / fabrications required to mount the Air termination streamer to the elevation mast / pipe is deemed to be included in the rate quoted.
24 3.21 (iii) The Serial No., Model No., CE mark, Hologram and OEM name shall be printed on the streamer.
25 3.22 ELEVATION ARRANGEMENT
26 3.23 Design, fabrication, supply, erection as per location, of high mast, 16 metre high, hot dip galvanised of factory made made up of average thickness 70 micron suitable for mounting air termination streamer conforming to BSEN 10025 with PCC/RCC foundation complete all as per Air termination streamer manufacturer specifications. 15 EACH JOB

28 3.25 (a) The supporting mast shall be designed to with stand the maximum wind velocity as prevailing in the area round the year.
29 3.26 (b) The design and fabrication of high mast pipe shall be the responsibility of the streamer manufacturer engaged in the work including foundation and anchoring of the tower to ground using suitable stainless steel guy ropes and structural safety in all respects like overturning, breaking etc., and the contractor shall get the same approved by GE before the work is carried out.
30 3.27 Design, fabrication, supply and erection of supporting structure to mount Air Terminal Streamer of total height 12m, of varying dia in descending order from below viz 80mm dia, 65mm, 50mm bores of pipe light grade of exposed height 4m each, suitably overlapped or welded for structural stabilty, and clad to existing building / structure with suitable FI clamps and bottom rested on suitable base plate fixed by bolts all as per design and specifications of Air termination streamer manufacturer. 10 EACH JOB
31 3.28 Design, fabrication, supply and erection of supporting structure to mount Air Terminal Streamer of total height 5m, of varying dia in descending order from below viz 65mm, 50mm bores of pipe medium grade of exposed height 2.5 each, suitably overlapped or welded for structiral stabilty, and anchored on the top of roof of building including necessary base plate fixed with bolts on roof, Stainless steel guy wire of suitable gauge duly anchored all as per design and specifications of Air termination streamer manufacturer. 7 EACH JOB

33 3.3 (a) The supporting mast shall be designed to with stand the maximum wind velocity as prevailing in the area round the year.
34 3.31 (b) The design of the structure shall be the responsibility of the streamer manufacturer engaged for the work including the jointing of assorted dia of pipes and clamping to existing building / structure /anchoring of the tower to roof of existing building / structure and structural safety in all respects like overturning, breaking etc., and the contractor shall get the same approved by GE before the work is carried out.
35 3.32 (c) All exposed mild steel surfaces shall be painted with two coats of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of red oxide zinc chrome primer after due preparation of surfaces.
36 3.33 EARTHING SYSTEM
37 3.34 Earthing complete with copper earth plate electrode 600mm X 600mm X 3.15m thick in single piece and not welded together, with and including earthing of copper strip 20mm x 3mm duly brazen by means of bolts, nuts, washers and checknuts made out of galvanised iron, earth strip by 40mm bore GI pipe light grade upto a length of 7.5m (Earth lead and pipe protection upto 7.5m is deemed to be included in the unit rate quoted) and connected to main switch board or main control board or electric pole all as shown on electrical plate No.3 of MES Sch Part-I but including necessary earth work and excavation in any type of soil, plain cement concrete 1:3:6, type C1 chamber, reinforced cement concrete cover slab with locking arrangement and handle of 10mm dia MS round bars 450mm long, 1:2:4 type B1, 50mm thick with 8mm dia TMT bars at 140mm centre to centre both ways, GI pipe of bore 20mm medium grade for watering with funnel, wiremesh, lugs, earthpit surrounded by graphite powder, vegetable soil mixture, salt, charcoal, magnesium sulphate including testing complete all as specified and as directed and as per Air termination streamer manufacturer specifications. 96 EACH JOB

39 3.36 (a) On testing of earthing on completion, the earth resistance of individual pit shall be less than 1 ohm failing which the complete earthing shall be redone without any extra cost to Government.
40 3.37 (b) The electrode and copper earth strip of size 20mm x 3mm shall be permanently welded using exothermic welding for interconnecting the earth electrode (if a combination of more than one earthing is used) and from earth electrode to test point and the same shall be measured separately.
41 3.38 Copper strip of size 20x 3mm as grid between chemical earthings and upto test point including brazing on both sides at all joints, fixed on wall / buried in ground complete all as specified and as per Air termination streamer manufacturer specifications. 527 RUNNING METRE

43 3.4 Any earthwork, fixtures like porcelain insulators, saddles etc., incidental to laying / fixing the copper strip is deemed to be included in the rate quoted.
44 3.41 Test point terminal block made of gun metal or phosphorus bronze size 75 x 75 x 25mm drilled and screwed including 3 Nos 8mm dia 25mm long hex. head screw with porcelain insulator fixed on building / mast complete all as specified and as per Air termination streamer manufacturer specifications. 32 EACH
45 3.42 Down conductor of 50 sqmm single core copper flexible cable (ISI marked) connecting from air terminal upto grid testing point of earthpit drawn through 32mm dia PVC protection pipe with all accessories like PVC sleeves, saddles, clamps, insulator, conductor hook etc., fixed with suitable clamps to the structure complete all as specified and as per Air termination streamer manufacturer specifications. 510 RUNNING METRE
46 3.43 Lightning flash / strike counter 6 digits digital display, current discharge capacity >1 kA with weather proof stainless steel enclosure, al and having IP 65 protection providing information of number of lightning flashes / strikes the system has safely discharged suitably mounted at eye level on GI mast / building to facilitate proper reading and connected to the down conductor complete all as specified and as per Air termination streamer manufacturer specifications. 32 EACH
47 3.44 Note for Entire Air Termination Streamer system
48 3.45 (a) The item shall be executed in conjunction with the technical and executional details as given in particular specifications hereinafter.
49 3.46 (b) All the items listed above shall be carried out by the single OEM of Air Termination Streamer manufacturer approved and a certificate of warranty of minimum 05 years shall be obtained from the OEM and kept on record. This shall however not excuse the contractor from his responsibility in rectifying the defects in the work executed during warranty period.
50 3.47 (c) The Air Termination Streamer manufacturer shall be from the list of manufacturers as given here-in-after.
