17 3 TREATMENT OF CONTRACTION JOINTS IN DAM BODY
18 3.01 Drilling of 125 – 150 mm dia. hole along the Dam body joint at certain distance u/s of the drain hole of the water stop arrangement of dam joint, ensuring that both dam blocks across the joint are cut equally all through the depth and the hole is taken atleast 2 m in to the foundation rock. The hole is to be filled with hydrophilic polyurethane material and sealed at the dam top, including drilling charges, cost of materials & admixtures, scaffolding, labour charges etc. as per direction of the Engineer-in-Charge. The cores, from 2 m depth from dam top and 2 m depth above dam foundation are to be preserved for verification that the dam body joint has been cut all along the depth and stored in core boxes. 20 4 CRACKS REPAIRING ON UPSTREAM FACE OF DAM
21 4.01 Crack Repairing Rate using Cementitious Material : Surface cleaning along the crack, cutting of Vslot 25 mm deep along crack, fixing of 12 mm size nozzle for grouting at 2 m intervals, cleaning and saturating the slot, application of bonding coat using Megamix-II (XYPEX) or equivalent and fill the slot with special/approved mortar. Grouting of crack through nozzles with grout mix of XYPEX C 2000 NF or equivalent along with Micro-fine cement (grain size D95 < 20 microns) in 1:5 ratio as per technical specification.
