3 3 Laminar Air Flow Ceiling System/ Clean Air System The ceiling filtration system should be designed to ensure unidirectional/ Vertical Laminar Air Flow System of clean air into the operation theatre and the exit of the contaminated air out of the operation theatre through the return air ducts/Exhaust air shafts. The Plenum box should be made of Aluminum sheet (60601 T5) minimum 1.5mm thick. Size minimum 2400mm x 2400mm\nSystem should comprise of thick extruded aluminum profiles frame and sealed gasket.\nThe volume supply of different sizes of Laminar Air Flow Ceiling is as follows: \n2400mm x 2400mm – minimum 4500m3/hr at approx. 0.24 m/s average velocity. The Plenum air/ Laminar flow should have installed with horizontally placed HEPA filters of H–13 class. The Laminar flow system should have light diffusers consisting of two layers of monofilament precision woven polyester of uniform porosity with an open area of sufficient resistance to create laminar flow from diffuser face.\nAir should diffuse into the theatre uniformly over the total area. The range of ventilated ceiling should provide the sterility cleanliness required for OT environment. Integral lightening should provide an illumination in operating area. Perfect tightness should be guaranteed by an epoxy seal between filters and holding structure disabling “by pass” of HEPA filters. The filters installed in the plenum should be suitable for applications for laminar flow and clean rooms.\nFilters should meet the following specifications: Protective grids -White epoxy painted micro drawn; Grid –Separators continuous Thermoplastic Chords; Sealant-Polyurethane; Gasket-One piece polyurethane; MPPS average-99.95% efficiency; 0.3 micron DOP- 99.999% Efficiency; Final pressure drop-600 Pa (Maximum); Max. operating temperature-60 degree Celsius; Maximum RH – 40-50 percent; Efficiency tests- Filters individually tested and certified. 4 4 Antistatic Flooring- ESD Vinyl It should be with 2mm antistatic (ESD) seamless Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) flooring. Total weight 3000 g/m2. Floor should be smooth, non-slip, impervious material conductive enough to dissipate static electricity but not conductive enough to endanger personnel from electric shock. Electrostatic charge dissipation (ESD) combat PVC seamless flooring of very high quality should be provided. Thickness not less than 2 mm. Continuous roll should be used, and joints should be welded by special PVC thermal welding units using PVC welding bars of same colour. The sheets should be highly durable with resistance to shock and indentation. It should be scratchproof also. The conductive material should be uniformly impregnated as grains. It should be inert to body fluids, chemicals and disinfectants. Should not be affected by temperature variation within the OT. The floor should efficiently discharge electric charges up to 2 kV. The electrical resistance (point to ground) should be within 2.5x10^4 to 5x10^6 ohms. It should confirm to EN 1081, EN1815 standards. The floor should not allow buildup of electrical charge beyond 100 volts due to antistatic effect. The corners should not be terminated sharply and concealed cove- former (aluminium) should be used to overlap the wall panel to a height of approx.25mm and sealed perfectly and uniformly. Self-leveling compounds should be used. It should be scratch resistant, fire resistant, chemical resistant, slip resistant, bacterial resistant, dimensional stability <0.40%, static electrical charge < 2kV, electrical resistant. The conductive copper grid laid underneath the PVC sheet should be supported by liquid epoxy compounds allowed to set as a uniform and level surface. The copper strips to be made visible by grinding and no copper strip should project more than 0.5mm above level surface to avoid damage to the PVC sheet. The reflectors should be of high quality, cleanable and non-deteriorating. The luminaires body should be made of sheet steel/ perfectly powder coated, supplied ready for connection optionally for individual or series circuit with digital electronic control gear. Recess frames should be gas tight. The fitting should be flush with the ceiling and should be removable from top or bottom. The light fitting should be uniformly and aesthetically distributed on the ceiling to provide uniform illumination in the OT. 11 11 Medical Gas Pipeline Copper tube and fitting must be manufactured as per BS EN 13348:2001. The medical grade copper pipes should be Phosphorous deoxidized, non-arsenic, degreased seamless round tubes (Grade: CW024QA / Cu-DHP) conforming to EN 13348:2001. The mechanical properties of copper tube should be in accordance with BS EN 13348:2001/2008 in either R250 half hard or R290 hard. Degreasing of pipe shall be such that there is less than 20mg/m2. All Pipes must be manufactured, calibrated, tested & Lloyds Certified as per specifications BS EN 13348:2001 +A1/ ASTM: B 819-00. The supplies of copper pipe should be accompanied with manufacturers test certificate for the physical properties and Chemical composition. Further substantiated with inspection certificate from the third parties like SGS/Lloyds Register.\nAll sizes from 12mm to 108mm (As per requirement) shall be from same manufacturer confirming to the quality parameters and specifications referred above. 17 17 Pressure Relief Dampers Pressure relief dampers (PRD) should be provided in each room to prevent contamination of air from clean and dirty areas. Suitably sized air pressure relief damper should be strategically placed, enabling differential room pressure to be maintained and ensured when doors are opened between Operating room and the corridor. Counter-weight balancing system should be provided in the PRD to maintain positive pressure inside the operation room. Air pressure stabilizers should have unique capability of controlling differential pressure to close tolerance.
