tender for updation of dpr for nw-4 (including survey expenses, consultancy fee & survey and miscellaneous expenses) form fin: 3; iwai has prepared a dpr for nw-4 through m/s wapcos ltd. in year 2010. the dpr cited that these are non-viable national waterways owing to restricted depths. as 14 years have already passed by, it was decided that the dpr be updated as per the following brief scope of work. 1. collection and review of available reports, studies and data. 2. the traffic assessment shall comprise of traffic survey, traffic analysis, and potential iwt traffic projections in respect of nw-4 up to 2047. 3. fairway development and maintenance 4. navigation aids 5. terminals 6. design vessels sizes & types 7. water level gauges 8. bathymetric and topographical survey for rivers and buckingham canal from ennore sea mouth to muttukadu sea mouth. 9. current velocity and discharge measurement 10. water and bottom samples in the above surveyed stretch 11. preliminary layout for providing and / or improving facilities: the consultant shall provide preliminary layout, component / sub-component wise for each of the project / sub-project proposed in the dpr. 12. requirement of environment impact assessment (eia) for the critically of various stretches. 13. requirement of social impact assessment (sia) for the critically of various stretches. 14. cost estimates 15. economic & financial analysis 16. financing plan / structuring 17. collection of data of canals from various state governments. 18. enhancement of cargo and passenger movement and river cruise tourism for comprehensive development of nw-4 including buckingham canal.
