bids are invited for barley crushed- defence - 1. barley crushed shall be the product obtained by crushing dried matured grains of barley (hordeumvulgare) of fair average size and plumpness, thin and skinned, hard with a slightly wrinkled skin of uniform natural colour.2. the barley used for crushing shall be of current season’s crop and shall be sound dry, sweet, clean, wholesome and free from moulds, living insects, obnoxious smell, discolouration, admixture of deleterious substances. the barley shall be in sound merchantable condition. 3. the crushed grains shall be in the form of flakes exposing the endosperm of the grains. fragments of grain, free husk i.e, husk having no particles of endosperm adhering to it, dust / powder, whole grains and other impurities shall not exceed the proportions indicated in para 16 below. 4. barley crushed shall be free from fungus and live insect infestation. it shall not have any discolouration, unpleasant odour and bitter taste 5. the barley shall be packed in light weight 50 kg jute bag as per bureau of indian standards specification no is:16186 :2014 for testing and quality check. the bags will conform to the following dimensions 6. the mouth of each bag will be double machine stitched with suitable thread total quantity : 7500
