non-salient pole alternator experimental setup and position control kit . machines lab - 1 dc shunt motor coupled to non salient pole alternator experimental set up: dc shunt motor: n 7.5hp, 220v, 1500rpm coupled with non salient pole separately excited alternator 5kva, 3phase, 415v, 50hz, 1500 rpm should be mounted on mounting platform provided with 3 point starter of suitable capacity with enclosure, should be provided with metal stand , antivibration mount and optical sensor for speed measurement. front panel mounting should consist of mimic diagram with dc mcb, fuses 2 nos, supply indicators, rpm meter, bti 30 terminals, digital voltmeters, digital ammeters, with variable loading rheostat with 12 rotary switches in steps with provision of 10% overloading and external necessary rheostats n n 2 position control systems kit : the dc motor position control trainer consists of, n1.controller n2.converter n3.mechanical setup ncontroller: n2 analog pi controller provided position control ( + cascaded ) . neach pi controller provided with front panel variable setting for, nvariable gain for proportional controller ( p ) , variable integral time for integral controller ( i ) nconverter: n* 4 quadrant mosfet chopper provided for forward & reverse direction * mosfet driver provided nmechanical setup: n* one pmdc 12 volt with gear provided n* motor speed 1500 rpm n*gear ratio 30 : 1 to run 50rpm speed n *one servo potentiometer provided at the low speed shaft n*optionally one pmdc motor can be coupled to the motor as load nother features: n*one tacho generator is provided for cascaded feedback n*one 3½ digit display can be used to display the actual. n
