The Proposed Project Involves Setting Up The New Plants And Facilities, Which Includes EDC Plant, PET-G, CHDM, Incinerator In Existing VCM Plant, Separation Of Hydrogen As A Product In CA Plant And CO2 Recovery Unit In Existing EO EG Plant.. All These Facilities Are Coming Up Within The Existing RIL DMD Spread Over 700 Hectares And Having Sufficient Vacant Space To Accommodate These Proposed Projects. The 500 KTA EDC To Be Used As Raw Material For Manufacturing VCM, Which Is A Monomer For Making PVC. DMD Site Is Already Making VCM/PVC 360KTA And Has Approvals To Build A New VCM/PVC Plant Of 1200 KTA Capacity. The Proposed EDC Plant Will Meet The Raw Material Requirement Of An Initial Plant Of 500KTA VCM/PVC (From The Approved 1200KTA). This EDC Will Be Produced Using The Surplus Ethylene, A Basic Raw Material For EDC, Within The RIL Sites And Import If Required. Chlorine, The Other Basic Raw Material, Will Be Sourced From The Large Scale Chlorine Producers In Dahej Area , Bharuch, Gujarat.
