The Proposed Project Is To Enhance The Cargo Handling Capacity Of The Existing Cuddalore Port With Additional Two Berths And Other Required Port Infrastructures As Capacity Expansion Project. The Cuddalore Port Is Located In The Confluence Point Of Paravanar And Uppanar With Sea And Has A Land Area Of 56.92 Ha. The Proposed Project Expansion Is Envisaged Within The Notified Limits Of Cuddalore. New Infrastructures To Enhance The Present Cargo Handling Capacity Of Meagre 0.37 To 5.68 MTPA. The Proposed Cargo Will Be A Mix Of Bulk Cargos Like Coal, Cement, Fertilizers And Also Clean Cargo Like Container Cargo. The Additional Berths Would Be Requiring -10m Draft For The Movement Of Vessels Which Has Been Assessed For The Requirement Of Dredging Of 1.88 Million Cubic Meter (18, 73,476m3).
