Jhillingburu-I Manganese & Iron Ore Mines, under Raw Materials Division (RMD) of SAIL, The project envisages re-opening of Jhillingburu-I iron & manganese ore mining lease, an opencast mine, of SAIL increase capacity of 61,362 t/yr to 42000t/yr of manganese ore. Most of the manganese ore will be used by SAIL for manufacture of ferro-manganese and silico-manganese, which will be used for steel manufacture in SAIL’s steel plants. A small portion of the ore will be directly fed into the blast furnaces of SAIL’s steel plants.
