Jaypee Cement Corporation
Jaypee Cement Corporation is planning the 7 MTPA Taranhalli
limestone mining project at Villages Taranhalli & Shahabad,
dist. Kalaburagi, Karnataka on 631.311 hectares ML area. This
is a captive mining project to meet the limestone requirement
of the company's proposed 4.6 MTPA clinker plant and 6 MTPA
cement plant to be set up at a distance of about 2.5 km at
Village Bankur, Tehsil Chittapur, dist. Kalaburagi. The estimated
cost of the project is Rs. 300 million. The project is waiting for
environmental clearance. According to MoEF sources, the
method of mining is fully mechanized open cast method. Total
mineable reserves is 222.77 million tonnes. The expected life of
the mine is 32 years. 8 hectares will be developed as green
belt. A well planned mines office, workshop will be provided.
150 KW power will be sourced from CPP/ grid power
