Land acquisition will cost approximately Rs 770 crore in Phase-I of the Ahmedabad metrorail project. Till now, about 50 percent of the 90 hectares has been acquired and the remaining land, needed for constructing various utilities, The land needed for the project, belongs to various agencies, including state government, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA), Indian Railways, GIDC and private land, railway have already acquired 50 percent of the land, which includes 40 hectares at Gyaspur and Apparel Park for building depots. In some places we will be taking the land on lease, while at some other places it will be an outright purchase,
