Government of Tamil Nadu commissioned a check dam constructed across River Amaravathi stretch passing, The project cost at of Rs 7.6 crore, the 120-metre dam with a height of 1.8 metres, seven million cubic feet of water and the water thus stored would be used to cater to the drinking purposes of residents in Dharapuram and Kundadam areas.
