The Distribution Reforms Committee of Jammu and Kashmir government approved projects worth Rs 1,700 crore to strengthen power distribution infrastructure. Government has approved DPRs of Rs 450 crore under the Integrated Power Distribution Scheme (IPDS) for 86 Towns and DPRs of Rs 1249.68 crore under the Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna (DDUGJY) for rural areas of the state. The DPRs have been prepared by the state Power Development Department after detailed field survey and identifying critical infrastructural gaps in the distribution network.
