The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), an apex body which controls stock car racing around the globe, has chosen Bengaluru to introduce stock car racing to India. Hoping to set up an international standard racing track, the company is knocking on the doors of the state with a request to sanction 300 acres of land close to Bengaluru or Kempe Gowda International Airport (KIA). Manufacturing and assembly units will be part of the project, as racing cars will be manufactured and assembled and based in India.
