Palakkad Coconut Producer Company is planning to set up a neera processing project at Muthalamada, palakkad. The project involves the hot processing neera through vacuum evaporation technique to high quality Honey and sugar, Neera (glass bottling) and Neera in PET bottles and pouches. For the unit, a cold storage facility with 10,000 ltrs capacity is already functional and an in-house team will render consultancy services. As of March 2015, foundation stone for the unit has been laid. The plant would be established at a cost of Rs.11.5 crore
