The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has issued e-tender for various sewage-related works to the tune of Rs 242.06 crores to be done through a private agency in the city.
The sewage-related works include laying RCC (reinforced cement concrete) pipes, gutters, drainage lines, repairing chambers, in various prabhags of the city through a contractor. The tender for the works was floated on Sunday and the bids will be opened this month-end.
"The private agency should be approved by the state government, central government or semi-government and should have experience of working in this field," said an NMC official. "In some places, new pipes have to be laid, in others, they have to be replaced or repaired as they have become old," he said.
The works including laying RCC pipes and gutters in Shubh Society area behind Meghraj Bakery in prabhag 6 at Panchavati division, drainage line in Sadashiv Nagar area in prabhag 52, nullah and RCC pipe from Rajratna Garden to Uttam Nagar in prabhag 45, drainage line in Morwadi village in prabhag 44 in New Nashik (CIDCO), RCC pipe and gutter in Savli Apartment and Carbon Nala area in prabhag 17 in Satpur, chamber repair in Maharashtra Housing Colony in prabhag 19 in Satpur, RCC pipe and gutter in Bhimwadi slum in prabhag 20 in Satpur and other areas.
"Chambers will also have to be constructed in some places. For all these works, we want to appoint an experienced contractor. We want to get all these sewage-related works done at the earliest," said the official.
