Banaskantha District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd
Two dairy milk processing projects of 10 lakh litres capacity worth Rs 390 crores were inaugurated by chief minister Akhilesh Yadav at Jainpur Industrial area in Mati in Kanpur Dehat on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Yadav highlighted the need for development of private entrepreneurships in the state. He said the state will prosper if more and more entrepreneurs come forward and set up units like this. It will solve the problems of both the masses and the farmers in the state.
The two dairy plants of Banaskantha District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union Limited (Amul) of 5 lakh litres milk capacity each would be set up in Chak Gajariya farm in Lucknow and Jainpur Industrial area in Mati in Kanpur Dehat district. These will be of international standards. The requirements of milk in the state as well as in several other eastern and northeastern states will be met, the CM said.
Yadav said it would substantially boost milk production in the state and make it self-reliant in the sector. "There is a lot of scope of milk in UP and it could be ranked first as far as the process for protecting and preserving of cows is concerned. The milk production in the state is growing and if the present pace is sustained, we will become largest milk producer across the nation," he said.
The CM also laid the foundation of dairy project which will come up in Chak Gajariya farm in Lucknow at an estimated cost of Rs 210 crores. Officials of the Banaskantha District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union Limited (Amul) and a large number of small dairy owners from across the state were present on the occasion.
