McNally Bharat Engineering Co Ltd has bagged orders worth Rs. 118.59 crore for building three super-speciality hospitals in two West Bengal districts. The West Bengal government is setting up these hospitals under the Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF) at Debra and Salboni in Paschim Medinipur district and Nandigram in Purba Medinipur district.
The proposed super speciality hospitals are proposed as separate projects within the premises of existing hospitals at these places. According to the Hooghly River Bridge Commissioners, the State implementing agency, each project would have separate administrations, infrastructure and personnel.
The main five-storeyed hospital buildings will have 10-storey foundation. Each hospital building will have around 7,500 sq.m. of built-up area. The project construction will include the administrative block, staff quarters with roads and pathways, drainage, water supply, sewerage, electrical installations and landscaping.
Hooghly River Bridge Commissioners is also the implementing agency for four more super-speciality hospital projects in three other districts. These projects will also have a similar construction format and will be financed through BRGF. These four projects would be at Metiaburz and Kakdwip in South 24 Parganas district, Sagardighi in Murshidabad district and Bolpur in Birbhum district.
