Union Ministry Of Environment And Forests (Moef) Gave The Mandatory Environment And Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Clearance For The Vizhinjam International Seaport Project On Friday.
The Moef, While Giving Clearance For The Rs 4,010-Crore Project, Has Stipulated 29 Specific And 14 General Conditions To Be Abided By The Port Authorities.
The Ministry Also Said That People Can Approach The National Green Tribunal Within A Period Of 30 Days.
The Ministrys Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) Had Given The Green Nod For Project On December 3 And Set 17 Conditions. The Vizhinjam Port Had Submitted The Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Report To The Moef In August This Year.
The State Government Has Already Floated Global Tenders For Constructing The Port
