Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) Said Here Thursday That It Has Been Awarded A Contract Worth Rs 442.52 Crore By IRCON International Ltd To Construct A Tunnel And Two Bridges In Northern India.
"The Company Has Been Awarded A Contract Worth Rs 442.52 Crore By IRCON International Ltd To Construct One Tunnel And Two Bridges Between Aprinchala And Sumber Stations On Dharam And Qazigund Section Of The Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla New Broad Gauge Railway Line Project. The Project Will Be Completed In 48 Months," A Company Statement Said Here Today.
The Contract Involves Construction Of A 5.1 Km Long Tunnel Called T49A, The Substructure Of 445-Metre Long Bridge 2 And A 346-Metre Long Bridge 3, Besides Earthworks At Sumber Yard Totaling A 6.4 Km Stretch On The Dharam-Qazigund Section Of The Jammu & Kashmir Rail Link.
This Stretch Is Contiguous With The 10.2 Km Long T48 Tunnel Between Sumber And Sangaldan Stations, Which Is Currently Being Constructed By HCC. The Company Had Received The Order For T48 Tunnel In September 2012 After Successful Completion Of The Pir Panchal Railway Tunnel, The Longest Transportation Tunnel In India, The Release Said.
