Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Laid The Foundation Stone For The Second Campus Of St. Xavier’s College On Last Friday. The Campus Will Come Up At An Estimated Cost Of Rs. 250 Crore At Rajarhat In The Eastern Parts Of The City.
The 17-Acre Plot The College Had Been Allotted In Rajarhat By The State Government Is Ready For Construction. Chief Minister.
"In The Meantime, We Are Upbeat About Building Our Two New Campuses And Have Already Got IIT Kharagpur To Design The Rajarhat Campus For Us, Complete With Constructions In Two Phases, To Be Completed In Three Years Each. Construction Will Start Immediately After The Foundation Stone Is Laid By The CM. Joy Sen, The Head Of Architecture At IIT-Kgp, An Alumnus Of The College, Has Designed The Rajarhat Campus” Informed By Principal Of The College, Father Felix Raj.
In The First Phase, A 12-Storied Academic Block, Libraries, Research Wings, An Administrative Block, An Alumni Centre, Residences For Jesuits, Faculty And Students And A Community Hall Will Come Up. A Large Part Of The Campus Will Be Devoted To Residential Programmes And Hence, Mammoth Residential Arrangements Will Be Done At Rajarhat
In The Second Phase, An Engineering College And A Modern Auditorium That Can Hold 2,000 People Will Be Built.
