Welspun Energy Limited (WEL) Commissioned Its First Solar Power Project In Karnataka Of 8 Mw Capacity. The Project Located In Chitradurga District Was Developed By WELs Subsidiary Welspun Solar Kannada Pvt Ltd Under The Karnataka State Policy. This Project Will Address Karnatakas Annual Peak Deficit Of 27.4% By Generating 12.2 Million Kwh Annually, Enough To Power 33,600 Households. The Solar Project Would Mitigate 11,651 Tons Of Carbon Emissions Annually. "Welspun Energy Is Committed To Supplying Clean Energy To Power Indias Growth. The Need Gap Can Sustainable Be Closed By Increasing Investment In Renewable Energy Projects And Our Pace Of Growth Mirrors This Commitment," Said Vineet Mittal, Managing Director, WEL. The Tracking System Deployed At The Site Would Track The Path Of The Sun And Expected To Give A Significant Boost To Power Generation Percentage In Comparison To The Fixed Tilt System. WEL Currently Has A Portfolio Of 300 Mw Of Clean Energy Projects Out Of Which 262 Mw Is Operational. With An Industry Projected Growth Of 20 Per Cent Per Year And A Favourable Policy Ecosystem, WEL Is Hoping To Develop 1.75 Gw Of Solar And Wind Power Projects In The Next Three Years.
