National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) is planning to spend Rs 300 crore on its 280 MW Dhauliganga hydro power project. The hydro power project was impacted by the recent floods in Uttarakhand. Due to floods in Uttarakhand, the project has completely stopped power generation and it will take few more months for operations to resume. At present, NHPC is seeking approvals for about 10 projects having a total capacity of 8,801 MW. NHPC is engaged in the planning, development and implementation of an integrated and efficient network of hydroelectric projects in India. It executes all aspects of the development of hydroelectric projects, from concept to commissioning.
