Indian Oil Corporation is moving forward with its Rs 4,500 crore LNG terminal project in Tamil Nadu to supply piped gas in the southern region. The company would soon "float tenders" for it. The oil company has signed an agreement last year with Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation to set up the Rs 4,500 crore liquefied natural gas terminal in Chennai. The project expected to be completed by 2016-17. IOC Chairman R.S. Butola said, “Whether we select a partner (LNG supplier) now or later, we are going ahead with the construction. Some of the bids are out. we will appoint the contractors for tanks and jetties etc.,”
